it was a fair callout actually. not everyone wants that info on a public forum or necessarily associated with their account here.

Well just got home from a nice 2-hour test drive with the Etron.

Few things I liked about the E-tron.
1. Seats are great, amazing seats.
2. you get three screens and the one screen you can draw on. it's kinda neat.
3. Feels more like a small Suv and sits higher up.
4.Handling yes is better.
5. Of all the BEV I have tested now right at 10 it has the most comfortable ride. It's very smooth.
6 heat and air controls are a little more simple to use.
7.center console is done very nice also.
8. you get a spare tire.

few things I didn't like.
1 all the piano black a fingerprint magnet in there.
2. No really true 1 pedal driving.
3. Frunk is really not a frunk no room.
4.Sunroof is small.
5. Range is about 50 miles less than the premium AWD EXT range mache.
6.not really sporty as the mache more of a suv.

Really I liked it a lot. Mache, I-pace, E-Tron, ID4, tesla Model y and mode 3, Polestar 2, chevy bolt, kona. If I had to pick from that list. It would be the E_tron right after the mache.

The Etron is that good.

Now I have heard for weeks about oh it's so cheap the E-Tron now, its about the same price as the mache. Well you know my ass has to find out. I mean who wants to be wrong right?

The total incentive right now is 7,500 for the premium. It goes up another 500 for the premium plus and another 500 for the prestige E-tron. That's it went over it many times. Yes, your state might have more incentives yes the 7,500 tax credit. But that is what Audi is giving counting the Costco discount.

So with the Discounts The Audi Etron premium is still 6,000 more than the MAche AWD EXT range. But to get many of the same features you would have to buy the Audi Etron premium pls which is 68,000 after discount. About 14,000 more still.

But hey what do I know not like I purchased one right? ;) ;)

the dealer is ripping you. Audi dealer will typically give you 7% discount off MSRP before any rebates , costco and Federal Tax. I jumped ship from Mach E to Etron prestige after i was impressed by the drive and luxury of Etron compared to MAche. Following is my best negotiations on my recent visit to Audi dealers.

Following discounts secured through the dealers . which may be helpful to prospective buyer. Still deciding on my trim. These discounts are excluding 7500$ Fed tax rebate

Etron Premium
MSRP $72115
Dealer discount $4326 ( 6%)
Audi credit $1500 cash ( $1000 if finance)
National Credit $4000
Costco Credit $ 2000
Total discount $ 11826.. 16% off MSRP

Premium plus:
MSRP $ 78255
Dealer Discount $ 4695 ( 6%)
Audi credit $1500 cash ( $1000 if finance)
National Credit $5250
Costco Credit $ 2000
Total discount $13445 ( 17% off MSRP)

Prestige
MSRP $85065
Dealer Discount $5100 ( 6%)
Audi credit $1500 cash ( $1000 if finance)
National Credit $6500
Costco Credit $ 2000
Total Discount $15100 ( 17.75% off MRSP)

Hope this helps

Yep. We had a deposit on the Mach E, but wanted to test drive all the potential competitors. I still visit here to follow the updates on how the Mach E is turning out, but we now have these in the garage.

We like it a lot. Very nice interior (where you spend all of your time) and it handles well. You can feel the weight if you push it in a corner, but all of the EVs are weighty due to the batteries. The Etron is my wife’s car and she has been out of town almost since we picked it up last week.

How was the touch screen responsiveness? Laggy, or smooth, compared to the mach-E?
Personally, I am not a fan of the exterior look of the E-Tron. It looks boring and uninspiring, like it would blend into the other cars (or audis) on the freeway. But that's up to personal taste.

The Taycan is beautiful. Congratulations on both.

mach e is all looks and no quality. Etron is luxury and blends into other Audi. People would not even know its electric when they look at it.

It's a better "vehicle" but not the powertrain. That is why we passed on our First Edition reservation. Audi brought a vehicle to market that should have mopped the floor with Tesla.

Because they have the best interiors in the business ( I own 2 Audis and have owned Audis since 2000).
They are a real car company.
Their Quality control is good, their material choices are excellent.

E-tron + tesla powertrain = Game over for everyone!

But E-tron with Audi powertrain, falls very short.

I think the Mach-E is a good compromise.

Some of those positives are very appealing to me. I'd love sitting higher (more of a true SUV). I'd love a smoother ride, with less bumping/jarring. The smoother the better. More luxury would be great.

But $14k more is just too much. It was hard enough to talk myself into paying $60k ($50k after tax credits) for the MME.

222 mile range is pretty weak. That puts it down near the Volvo XC40 that I was also interested in, but was also similarly high priced. But at least with the e-Tron's much better charge curve, the more frequent stops would go much faster. That almost makes up for the 50 less miles of range.

Things like no true 1PD, small frunk, and less sporty drive don't bother me. But the price does. I'd also miss the bigger screen.

The discount on MSRP is only in certain areas kinda like ford with 1,000 or 2,500 off. Looked into it all day.

Oh, it's nice. The E-Tron is more of an SUV while the mache is a crossover. But the price difference is still a big gap.

To get the 2,000 Costco discount you had to already be a Costco member also march 1st. The ride IS as smooth as you could want. But you can feel the weight in it also. We went overcharging and were advised only to charge to 80% since there is a very small buffer also. He was very detailed about that as Audi opened up the buffer from the earlier models to get more range.

Cold weather day E-Tron 80% he estimated between 160 to 170 miles of range. Overall it is nice but again the price difference to still a major gap. The piano black is a fingerprint magnet and it's all over. That was the only ughh I didn't like inside on the interior.

But again It's better than the I-pace all day. Really the I-pace is just falling down the list.

When I first starting thinking about buying my first EV over a year ago, the Audi Etron seemed like an intriguing possibility. I think it was being marketed at the Etron Quattro at the time?

Then I realized it was going to be priced out of my comfort zone and I started hearing about this electric Mustang suv. I def made the right choice. The MME hits the current sweet spot of price, looks, and range.

The Etron seems to be designed for people who want an Audi. Or something more luxury level than a Ford. And that’s cool and all but I just don’t see any value in it.
