Texas Sun and glass roof - how is it?

I plan on getting one of these if ends up being a problem on road trips, etc. but the tint is pretty dark already.

I don't think it's going to make any difference. The glass already absorbs UV and most of the spectrum. The interior is going to be warmed up primarily due to hot glass by IR and convection, which this device isn't going to change.
A bigger problem will be the front windows and the windshield.

I'm not really worried about the heat coming through the roof. More of the sun glare in my 3 year gold's eyes on road trips. I also thought about getting a very light ceramic tint on the side windows if heat does become a problem.
