I have to be honest. I'm scared of scratches or something worse Mach E haters could do. ? How about you guys?
I think the number of mustang diehards that would mess up someone else's car is far less than the number of Tesla haters that would to the same. They are typically all "car guys" (gender bias intended, women are generally less full of pointless destructive rage). If you're worried about it get a personalized plate with "nostang" or something like that on it to send the message that you know it isn't "really" a mustang. It might give them enough of a chuckle and/or appease their ego enough that they move on without doing anything.

The "SUV" moniker annoys me too. Sure it's taller than a traditional muscle car, but I expect it to drive much more like a sports sedan than an Explorer or Bronco. And I won't be taking mine off road.
Not with a 5.8” clearance!

The Model 3 Performance also does sub 3 second 0-60 and the 1/4 in about 11.4. It's considerably faster than the Y or current specs for the E.

So here's a thought: Mess with them a little ;)

Put a sign in your window (probably multiple windows):
"Don't key me, this is a Bronco not a Mustang"
Will probably make quite a few people do a double take--it is just a horse on the thing ;)

Good thought. Now I can put "Bronco EV" on my plates.

What is the best response?
a. OK, now get over it already.
b. 0-60 in 3.5; Nuf said.
c. Keep it up. Let's give em something to talk about.
d. Ford has the naming rights last time I checked.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of EVs and the Mach-e. But the Mustang GT500 will slaughter the E--and the Y--at a racetrack. It would be a good race on the street because without a chemically prepared track and burnouts the GT500 has a lot more power than traction. On the street it would take an exceptionally good driver in the GT500 and someone who can push the throttle with their right foot in the E; given that, streetlight to streetlight it would be a good race.
Having driven the 2020 GT500 on both a drag strip and road course, I would agree the GT500 will murder it. After 60 MPH the GT500 will pull away pretty quickly. After 100 it will be a runaway.

My GT350 is a supercharged coyote with 624 HP, so a lot less than the GT500's 760 HP but it has a 345 tire on the back which evens the score to 60, but after that the 500 will kill it.

I liken the people who refuse to consider the EV Mustang to people who refuse to consider fuel injection. They're just dinosaurs in the making.

All press is good press, as long as the Mach E safety isn't in question.
