This came up in a private message and I thought I'd share it here as a small history lesson.
Ford has used the Mercury Marauder model name three times. The third time was in 2003, when for a single year they produced this amazing vehicle:
This was in some ways a luxury-ish (Mercury brand after all) Police Interceptor. 302 HP ?, 318 LB-FT of torque ?, in a four-door sleeper sedan. Remember I'm talking about 2003, when an entry-level Mustang had only 190 HP and a Mustang GT had only 260 HP. This was a bit of a RWD (yes, RWD, because Panther platform!) monster for the time.
It even had its own marketing DVD, which I still own (sorry about the blur on some of the pics, just took them quickly):
"As seen on Speed Channel" ?
I've seen exactly one used (of the under 12,000 sold according to Wikipedia) locally since then. It sold before I had a chance to even get to the dealer to test drive it.
I just thought some folks on here might appreciate this. I now return you to non-ICE BEV Ford discussions. ?
