No point in defending your stance. You'll continually get attacked.

Just head over to the Tesla forum, keep doing research and buy the car you want. You'll get nothing but Tesla hate here, as you can already see. Unless you have a Ford emblem tattoo on your arm, don't expect them to welcome you with open arms.

Two different cars with different pros and cons. Most of the differences are subjective so there's no right answer.

If you're willing to wait, the Model Y built from the Austin factory will most likely come with the 4680 cells. The battery tech in the Y currently is over 3.5 years old. MME has the edge now in terms of pure size, but the new design should shake things up.
eh pretty normal ....neither club is exactly welcoming.

They dont like me over there either because I think Elons a douchebag - brilliant but a douchebag.

I like the Mach Es looks, interior and paint, but it has its own fit and finish problems I'm surprised and disappointed by.

I like CarPlay in my honda and giving it up would be a bummer in a Y.

Early code seems to have some fairly serious bugs

It also seems that its OTA update "depth" isnt as comprehensive and Im finding TSB's that require trips back to the dealer at a higher rate than Telsas require a shop or mobil visit.

Ford having a dealer network isnt a plus for me as from a service perspective they all dont actually know the car, and dealing with them has historically been not a pleasant experience (SHO, lightning, F150 ecoboost) I dealt with dealer markup in some form or another on every vehicle. Although my kids Focus did not, I consider that a lower end purchase than my own but that brings up the experience with Focus and its power shift trans was absolutely terrible.

The big thing for me is really the door to door time on long trips. According to a better route planner both rides have me to stop three times on my standard trip, Normally Ill stop twice in an ICE vehicle about 15 minutes a stop- long enough to fill up, bio break, and eat a snack.

If a better route planner is to be believed - The model Y has it full on beat here adding 32 minutes to the teslas charging time. The mach E's long trip charging curve is decidedly inferior.

Basically the Model Y adds about a half an hour on top of my ice trip, and the Mach E about an hour.

Left is Mach E, right is Model Y same source and destination - both arrive at the destination with a 75% charge

Mach E stops - 30 min, 27 min, 40 min
Model Y stops- 23 min, 15 min, 27 min

The EA network is also more expense by about the price of a cheap lunch.

Im surprised after all this time th Ford finds itself behind in this critical arena.

I love my Mach e and never really considered the Tesla because of build quality. That said, I think they are both great cars and I hope both companies sell every one they make.
Why would you spend so much time charging to arrive home with 75% of range left?

again it's not that you said anything bad about ford. 70% of mache buyers are from other brands. SO they plenty of people must things is an amazing machine.

It's the reason you said you were looking at the model y and the reasons, not the mache. Has nothing to do with ford, gm, dodge past as this is a BEV.

really you didn't ask anything You came on and started a thread about why you want the mache more than the model y. So again all of this is pointless. You didn't come in here asking about things you didn't know about one or the other. So it makes your point seem to trash one product from what your opinion is. That is by definition trolling.

It's a totally useless thread. If you came here and "asked" about things about one or the other people would not be so up in arms. But again read what you wrote 100% a bunch of WELL I WISH or I want this or why can't they do this. The answer Because what you want right now doesn't matter it seems. SO buy the Y and move on.

Hate to burst charging fanboy bubbles but I think that within a month of there being more NonTesla BEVs rolling on North American roads than Tesla's you will see Tesla stations being retrofit to harvest lost revenue. Charging is a short term issue.

Quite true @trutolife27. I haven’t owned a Ford in over 30 years. We now own two and by the end of 2022 we will have purchased 3 in as many years. Two of them all electric.
It's a totally useless thread.
Yes it is. It very quickly became a laundry list of why the op can’t make use of a MME. It’s like the meme with the guy at the table holding a change my mind sign. No, that’s not how any of this works. If the op is convinced a particular car is best for him/her/other—go buy it! If it’s a model y, great! If it’s a MME, great! If it’s a Toyota/Audi/Polestar/Volvo/BMW … same thing.

On the other hand if he/she/other is just trying to create the longest thread on the forum, they’re only 1235 pages or so short. Or so I’ve heard anyway.

The Model Y is surprisingly quick. I had one for a couple of days and I had to confirm it didn't have the boost enabled because it was ridiculous. I loved it. But I wouldn't say a Y is a fraction of the GT's price. The Y's price quickly starts rising if you're going like for like with a GT.

The Model Y LR in red with 20" wheels + acceleration boost = $59,190 incl doc + dest fees.
Mach E GT rapid red with pano roof = $62,700 incl doc + dest fees

If you consider the MME GT has $7500 going for it and promises handsfree driving for $1900 (vs $10k on the Y), then it's actually the Tesla that's pricier.
If someone is buying a new car above $40k they should have a tax liability above $7500. If they don’t, they’ll probably end up living in their car.

Id have thought someone that was the CEO of a company would be able to afford to have a charger installed at the place they stay regularly when they make this bi-weekly trip.

Nah dude. It’s the arrogance, dismissiveness, condescension, etc.

On any relevant forum you will absolutely get irrational infatuation, but there are PLENTY of us on here and other forums with high logical aptitude who have made a similar decision to the one you state you are attempting to make. We gave you reasons why we made the choice in favor of the Mach e, and you summarily dismiss those and instead regale us with tales of your son’s decade old focus and how many employees you have.

To be 100% honest, driving that route over and over seems ridiculous. Productivity while flying is in no way inferior to driving yourself 900 miles. I don’t care how much you claim you talk on the phone.

But even then, if door to door times and old grudges are your sticking points, neither the Y nor the Mach e are your best options. S or Taycan would be better suited. And if you care about fit/finish then the Taycan may be your only real player until other models make it to production.

If his communication/management style is similar to what he’s displayed here, I assume the position is temporary.

Or something better to do than be petty and reply to every single thread because he loves the mach e more than the model Y but did not get a chance to buy it.

@admin can we archive this entire thread? its just an idle mans joke.
