Yes I think you're right, the only connector used when connected to a DCFC for the J-1772 part of the connector is the one pin that makes the hand shake with the vehicle.
I think 3 contacts from the J1772 portion are engaged during DCFC: 3, 4, and 5.

Yes but that still leaves the CCS1 vs CCS2. This difference will prevent moving cars between North America and Europe. Not sure where the rest of the world falls on that one.

Have you guys ever seen the same standard for anything in EU/UK vs NA, NTSC-PAL, 240V system vs 120V-50hz vs 60hz and others, ;) I don't see the day yet where that will happen.

Military personell stationed overseas will frequently ship their cars there for the term of their stay.

At any rate, there are adapters for the different plugs (indeed we've seen pictures of EU Mach-E's charging at US stations using an adapter).

Yes. It's the same standard. The difference is that in CCS2 the AC part of the combo uses a Mennekes connector just to give the German manufacturers a plug. (JK but true). With CCS1 the top AC plug is J1772.

Yes a some Petro Canada 150kW to 350kW also, but Ford Pass I believe would work with EC.
