I would *assume* that Alexa's voice recognition algorithms would be better than the built-in Ford ones... I also assume that Alexa would require some connectivity (sounds like it given the "free trial") - not sure that Ford's does?

Perhaps the use case is that this would be something you do when charging from 80% - 100% SoC.

There are other ways to update, such as through a phone connection.

Alexa would let people who use Amazon services access features like Amazon music.

Sure but if you're an "other automaker" and you had OTA updates you'd be screaming to high heaven that you have this feature (well ok advertise it). Don't really hear of any OEM's doing that.

Audi is featuring a “scribble” app in their e-trons. You can scribble “tacos” for example and it’ll navigate you there. Still pretty lame...

Um re-read my post: that is exactly what I said (and you can leave out the "what's the"--you can just say "weather" and it will pull it up).

The Electrek.co version (https://electrek.co/2021/05/13/ford-follows-tesla-in-car-gaming-software-update-amazon-alexa/) at least mentions the highlight of this update, although it is buried at the bottom. They claim turn-by-turn directions in the instrument cluster when using CarPlay is coming!
