I've never been much interested in voice commands. But I'm more and more on it to try it out. Especiale the climate and navigation commands will be a good thing to have.

I did try this out briefly. I said "set temperature to 71°"

The first time it said that value was outside design parameters. 271°. Fortunately it didn't cook me.

Second try worked fine.

My brochure on the Mache Premium model tells the seats are 8 way adjustments.

That doesn’t necessarily mean it has tilt. The 8 adjustments could be:

1. seat forward
2. seat backward
3. recline forward
4. recline backward
5. seat height up
6. seat height down
7. lumbar out
8. lumbar in

It seems that is the case. I just looked up the titanium Escape and it lists 10-way adjustable seats. 9/10 must be tilt.

Right before I left, I found myself in this situation. Alone in vehicle. Fob in cup holder...

But I behaved myself.

Reminds me of the Fresh Prince lyrics back in the day “they left the keys to the brand new Porsche, would they mind, hmmm, well, of course not. I’ll just take her for a little spin, and maybe show it off to a couple of friends”.

I am sure everyone noticed the key fob in the cup holder. I guess you won't need a phone to start the car.

I don't think anyone ever said a phone would be needed. Phone As A Key is a great feature, but not required.
Speaking of phone as key, the rep at the Mach E event I went to last week said it wouldn’t be available at launch. Was he wrong, did I misunderstand him, or is this indeed a future feature, if anyone knows?

It came up when I found the key fob in the center console and asked the rep if in fact I wouldn’t have to use the key fob because I could just use my phone. He said the phone as key feature wouldn’t be available right at the start. Ford’s website has a disclaimer that phone as key “requires activation”, but that to me sounds like you need to set it up on your phone, not delayed availability.

It will be available at launch in the US, but not necessarily in other countries. A lot of people are confused by this because they think Ford is using the new Apple CarKey feature. But the current Ford implementation of PaaK uses the FordPass app, which is not new technology. It is already out in the wild and fully functional in some Lincoln vehicles.
