Well, I got really grumpy yesterday with the GM of my dealer (whom I also ordered the car from) because the dealer said Ford has put off my build week until May 24th. I placed my order October 12, 2020 but the Order Status from Ford says the order was confirmed on 1-30-2021. What??!! I received notice from Ford in the only e-mail/communication they have sent me on October 12th saying "It's Yours" with my order number (3255) so where do they get the January date which is 3 months AFTER the order was placed. On the dealers Retail Order Information sheet it states the build week as 5/24/2021 but on Ford Order Status printout when I type in my VIN, "Scheduled for Production" is blank. Many on this board who ordered after I did (December and even January) have build weeks ahead of me which just isn't right. I called the GM and asked him to complain to Ford about this and why was I being put off so far in the future with my build week but he told me there was nothing he could do about it. I hope he's telling me the truth but I do wonder. With a May 24th build week (assuming I don't get bumped back further) I think a June or maybe even a July delivery date can be expected which is after those who placed their orders 2-3 months later then me. I was happy to receive a VIN number finally but my dealer had to find it as Ford never sent me an e-mail stating that my order was confirmed with the VIN. So yes, I'm grumpy and glad I have this thread to vent. The only silver lining I can see is that many of the early software bugs and issues will hopefully be solved and not present on my car. I am concerned, however, with the chip shortage and what it might do to production schedules.

Your order was confirmed 20 years ago, *before* the birth of your Thunderbird and before you even placed it. So yes, I can understand your frustration in having to wait 7,429 days for an electric car.

If only you'd reserved several years earlier, and at a different dealership where all the cars wear bow ties, you could have had an all new, all electric EV1.

All that said, it seems like you have a very patient dealer. :)

Sorry about the typo in the date and have corrected it; glad you found it so humorous. ?
I do have a very patient General Manager too.

LOTS of us waited more than 14 months. Patience.

Agreed; I need more. The thread is for venting though so I guess I need to put things in perspective.

@Illinibird, give Ron Tirapelli Ford in Shorewood a call tomorrow if you want to look into my original Infinite Blue LR AWD with the space grey interior. They’re right off I-55 just north of I-80. I saw it arrived yesterday and they’re offering it with no ADM. The only issue is the front bracket installation. They offered to remove it from the Mach Drop order that arrived with it installed at no charge to me before I went elsewhere to buy, but I declined. Maybe they’ll extendyou the same offer if you’re insistent. You can always tell them I referred you. Hope this helps if you’re not willing to wait until summertime.

Thank you. I looked up the car and have e-mailed them. Only thing is I have the Ford X-Plan which my current dealer accepts and I would want Tirapelli Ford to honor it as well. I kind of doubt whether they will however. They should respond tomorrow and I'll see.

If you do call, ask for Justin Barnes. They were going to accept X Plan from me.

Palsapp updated to show my dealer as the destination. I don't wanna get my hopes up too much but it's the biggest progress I've seen in 46 days

That means you're getting truck delivery from KC. Shouldn't be long now.
