That means you're getting truck delivery from KC. Shouldn't be long now.
Actually says it's coming from Dearborn Truck Plant. So, no idea what's happening, how it got there, what it's doing there, etc

Well, I got really grumpy yesterday with the GM of my dealer (whom I also ordered the car from) because the dealer said Ford has put off my build week until May 24th. I placed my order October 12, 2020 but the Order Status from Ford says the order was confirmed on 1-30-2021. What??!! I received notice from Ford in the only e-mail/communication they have sent me on October 12th saying "It's Yours" with my order number (3255) so where do they get the January date which is 3 months AFTER the order was placed. On the dealers Retail Order Information sheet it states the build week as 5/24/2021 but on Ford Order Status printout when I type in my VIN, "Scheduled for Production" is blank. Many on this board who ordered after I did (December and even January) have build weeks ahead of me which just isn't right. I called the GM and asked him to complain to Ford about this and why was I being put off so far in the future with my build week but he told me there was nothing he could do about it. I hope he's telling me the truth but I do wonder. With a May 24th build week (assuming I don't get bumped back further) I think a June or maybe even a July delivery date can be expected which is after those who placed their orders 2-3 months later then me. I was happy to receive a VIN number finally but my dealer had to find it as Ford never sent me an e-mail stating that my order was confirmed with the VIN. So yes, I'm grumpy and glad I have this thread to vent. The only silver lining I can see is that many of the early software bugs and issues will hopefully be solved and not present on my car. I am concerned, however, with the chip shortage and what it might do to production schedules.
I am in a very similar situaion - very frustrating. I placed my order on Sept 30, 2020 and now my build date is week of May 31, 2021 8 MONTHS after order date! What the heck is going on with this order process?!?!? I guess the only thing slightly helping me stay positive, I hope all these bugs are figured out by May

Misery loves company brother! I feel your pain and have been very outspoken about it. It helps me to vent and keep my BP down but not much else. Ford doesn’t give a sh#$ and who understands their logic as to scheduling. I have read they do it in batches so that might explain “some” of the build week dates. If it’s any consolation, there are many on the forum who are waiting even longer than we are. I see the same silver lining (I guess) in that the bugs and issues should be worked out by the time our cars are manufactured. I have tried to purchase 3 MME’s in the same configuration as my car that weren’t claimed by the people who ordered them but lost all three because I want the X-Plan pricing like I have now but the dealers won’t budge from MSRP or greater with ADM tacked on. All we can do is wait; we have no other choice If we don’t want to spend more money for the car.

If you do call, ask for Justin Barnes. They were going to accept X Plan from me.
As you know, Justin declined my offer and would not accept the X-Plan at this time. He said he’d call me back if they couldn’t sell it at MSRP. I don’t hold out a lot of hope of ever getting the car from the current X-Plan pricing I’m getting now so I will just have to wait until this summer. I’ll NEVER order a car again!

I'm starting to get less grumpy. The ford tracking site is showing expected delivery to my dealer in 21 days. Does that seem odd considering I haven't even seen evidence is has been built yet? It looks like it was only sent to the plant on 2/24.

My turn for venting.
Deposit paid in November 2019, ordered in June 2020 only, which is almost your 8 months already.
Built December 2020, more than a year after paying deposit and 5 months after order.
At this point ( expect it to worsen) ETA is March 30th, so overall 16 months of wait.
Yes I know of all the many factors that created this wait, but heck, I'm tired of hearing "just be patient"
Someone please acknowledge that it is all I've been doing, for more than a year and give me credit for not pulling the plug and rage-quitting this deal a long time ago.

I called and talked to him about it yesterday. Personally I'm a little irritated with the dealership because they called me last week with a sob story about Ford giving them a hard time about me canceling my order with them to go elsewhere to get what I want. They're claiming that Ford is taking their MME allocation away from them and that they're getting dinged for a customer satisfaction issue. They asked me to write an email with my reasoning and to provide proof that I purchased another one. I'm trying my best to help them get out of hot water with Ford and to sell the cars (I had a Mach Drop First Edition, as well), yet they're going to hold out to gauge the interest in them while they hold my deposit until one or both sell.

I'm wondering if that is where mine went as well. My rail car noted in the VV report was unloaded on 2/22/21 but palsapp still noted pending. So I wonder if mine got moved somewhere else like Dearborn, is still sitting in KC or never even left Mexico. My dealer has a request into the Colorado Ford Rep to get some answers, so hopefully I will at least know the answer to where my vehicle is and how long the delay will actually take.

I knew there was more to it then Justin told me. He admitted they “wanted to make more money off it” and that’s why he wouldn’t honor the X-Plan for me when he did for you. I certainly hope you get your deposit back because I was willing to buy the car yesterday on the spot if he would give me the same deal you had (told him I had the cash down payment and that I was only 30 minutes away) and the SOB story about Ford is BS. I wanted to deal soon because the car came in only 2 days ago but he said he thought someone would pay MSRP and he’s probably right. It’s a beautiful car in Infinite Blue with the Space Grey seats so they should have no problem selling it and you should have no problem getting your deposit back if they’re honest.

While I agree that if they offered it to one customer, they should be required to offer it to both. BEVS bring up an interesting dilemma for dealers in that the maintenance is so low, how do they make money on these vehicles if not at the point of sale. Most dealerships make money on sales goals set by the manufacturers which lead to bonuses from the manufacturers and also maintenance. Now with BEVS generating little maintenance revenue, it seriously calls into question the existence of a dealership. I'm all in favor for BEVs, hence my switch, but the collateral damage to the auto industry, one the last major manufacturers in the USA (I'm including parts), could be devastating to the employees of that industry. Honestly I think Ford is thinking long term to cut out the dealers and shift to a maintenance model only. i know there are state laws on the books but unless all the dealers get on the same page, which they won't as there are too many of them too agree, Ford and other manufacturers will have the lobbying power to get what they want ultimately if they do seek to cut out the middlemen.

I agree with you 100%. My guess is I'll have to physically visit the dealer to determine when the cars are sold to get my money back. I just can't see them calling me to let me know with as bitter as they sounded when stating I didn't give them a chance to fix the bumper cover with the screw damage from the license plate bracket.

My car arrived KC on 2/25 and per the Dispatcher locally they can't transfer to the next ramp for onward railcar to TX. Said Ford has a "hold" on the car...or maybe many (my opinion). My dealer's sales director is reaching out to his local rep to see if they can determine the issue.
