How often does everyone rotate tires? I know EV has harder tire wear…. Is it worth doing it every 5k instead of 10k?

I'll be doing 12 months / 10,000 miles as specified in the manual.

Note:
EVs as a class are not harder on tires. More massive vehicles can be harder on tires, so an EV compared with a similar but less massive ICE might be harder on tires. Some tires used by EVs might wear more quickly because of the efficiency specifications, but that tire would wear more quickly on any vehicle.

Rwd might be worth doing every 5k but in the end it doesn’t really matter much if one set of tires is slightly more worn then the other.

Manual says every 10,000 miles. I usually had done 7,500, with Norma, driving. Mach-E has done more highway driving, so 10,000 works for me.

Do you need to rebalance tires when rotating? I’ve never rotated tires myself since I often get them Costco and they do free rotations but was thinking of doing this myself for the MME since I have a jack (and just got those rubber pucks for the jack points). But I obviously can’t balance tires myself.

Usually no.
If you have massively different wear patterns on the tires and there's a lot of wear, then maybe.
I always brush away or wash away any dirt or mud that's built up on the inside of the wheel. This helps return it to the nominal balance from when it was last mounted.

Rotating tires on this car doesn't seem to matter as much as other vehicles. I have rotated my tires once so far.... around 21k miles. I am at 37k now and all 4 tires have the same tread depth remaining (about 6/32")

I was going to rotate yesterday but one of my other vehicles needed some attention so the MME will need to wait its turn. Maybe next weekend...

I’ll just rotate semi-annually as I switch between summer and winter wheels/tires.

I like @Murse-In-Airy's strategy. Failing that, I suppose I'll rotate the tires at every 2nd oil change. ;)

If you do it yourself, you need to torque to 150 pounds.

Buy yourself a cheap tire depth gage and check it every 3 months.

If you see uneven tire wear, then rotate the tires.

Also if you do your own rotations, research on this forum the proper places to jack the car up. Kind of a big deal.

20k+...2 tire rotations (10k intervals+/-) and no appreciable wear that I can see
