Tom Moloughney’s Emporia EVSE Review

Tom Moloughney just dropped his review of the Emporia EVSE on his State of Charge channel. I know a lot of members here have been recommending it. Other than the holster, it seems pretty decent.

I have been very pleased with my Emporia and am happy they got a good review. I have also been super impressed with their service, as I had questions before purchasing and also about the installation. No regrets at all.

I never was a fan of the charger holster though. I ended up using this instead:

J1772 holster (Amazon)

Very happy with this as well. It does a great job keeping the connectors clean and dry, and is easy to use.

Bought mine back when they were offering the non-UL listed for $399 or the UL listed for $449. Went with the $399 non-UL listed because only difference is a sticker. It has worked great and I really like that I can see the cost of every charge and the total KWH used per month.
Agree the connector holder could be better, but I'm used to it so it doesn't bother me.

Another happy user since December. I actually don't use the holster since it comes with a rubber cap. I just hang the cord over the unit.

I am leaning towards this one the most. A smart charger for $500 seems good and I haven't read any negative issues here about this one.

I already have a holster/plug so the negative isn't an issue for me.
