For real? That has not been my experience.1ft rollout would definitely improve it vs dead stop. I can spin all four at around 20MPH

Yep, Tesla definitely lets all of the hp/tq hit instantly, thatās for sure.Yeah I think this is where Tesla has it, they just dump a bunch of power to the motors and you get that head snap effect. Which is definitely fun.
Makes me curious if the 0-60 on a MME would be faster if you did a quick roll in on the throttle instead of just mashing it to the floor.
Might also be why they quote 0-60 time after the 1ft roll out, but I think that might be an industry thing too because they aren't the only ones doing it.
EDIT: changed it to 1ft roll out
Took our Premium EAWD to the track, car has 295/40 rear and 255/45 front tires so it should 60' very well but it's SLOW!!! Ford should be able to easily get. 5 second faster off the line with just an update to the programming which would easily make this a 12 second car. 13.6@102 ain't bad though. Sorry everything is in vertical so I could post to tiktok as well

Why does the car keep jerking? ???Nope stock stall/trans/driveshaft/axles at that time, same with many others.
The V is amazing for getting off the line for being a fat pig.
Here's a video of it at the track with a 1.507 60'
Sort of. In the Model 3 there's a lot of torque instantly. In the Y, they dial it back slightly until 10 mph. Attached is a 0-60 on the Dragy, 2020 Model Y Long Range with the acceleration boost. Stock 19" all season tires, 86% SoC. You can see the initial acceleration being held back. The Y Performance has the same acceleration curve.Yeah I think this is where Tesla has it, they just dump a bunch of power to the motors and you get that head snap effect. Which is definitely fun.
What model is the first edition? Seems like your draggy app is showing almost a full second faster than advertised which is odd.Yep, Tesla definitely lets all of the hp/tq hit instantly, thatās for sure.
As for 1 ft roll out, on my dragy runs the FE loaner was mostly 4.9s to 60mph and with 1 ft roll out it was showing 4.7s, but, since I deleted the runs out of my app now I canāt go back to screenshot/post them. Grr. Oh well, our 4X should be by early Oct. so Iāll post up vids/slips then I guess.
Here is one for my SS sedan/Commodore SSV Redline though, TCS on so the launch was soft but it hooked pretty good for 39F and max perf. summer tires (Conti ExtremeContact Sports). Personal best is 12.28@116 but that was on prepped track and a 1.89 60ft.
Premium 4X, Ford says 0-60 in 4.8 and thatās what the mags are getting. It was spot on for the 5-6 runs we did, SOC was between 85-90% and it was actually a bit damp out. What model is the first edition? Seems like your draggy app is showing almost a full second faster than advertised which is odd.
Yep, that LSA gets things going quick.Nope stock stall/trans/driveshaft/axles at that time, same with many others.

It won't be close. It'll need to be a 9 second car (1/4) to get a 1.5 60 ft. Here's the Model S PlaidYep, that LSA gets things going quick.
I doubt a Mach E GT PE will beat 1.5 60 fts. Maybe equal but not beat. Defense definitely wonāt have the top end.
There's a lot of untapped potential there, I agree. My guess is that Ford is trying to make the premium lean more towards luxury than violence. Probably an intentional choice unfortunately. Maybe an optional software update someday? The 60' time is killing the run. I bet it is the electric nannies on the car, as you note.
As a long-time drag racer, i have been a bit surprised with the Mach E from a dig. Clearly being held back by the computer. Gun it from 10 or 15 mph and it throws you back in the seat. Will even break the wheels loose a slight bit. But from a complete stop, the power delivery is definitely being throttled.
Future OTA for "launch control" or similar? Or maybe that is just for the GT...
Many cars that launch hard can net 60ft times in the 1.5s, especially if theyāre AWD. My daily SS sedan has cut a 1.89 60ft on a prepped surface with just max Perf summer tires and itās RWD. Our tuned WRX has gotten down in the 1.5s on the street and itās only making about 375Hp to the wheels. It did 1.6s bone stock with a 6K rpm clutch drop.It won't be close. It'll need to be a 9 second car (1/4) to get a 1.5 60 ft. Here's the Model S Plaid
The Y Performance does the 60 ft in about 1.85-1.90s, so the GT PE will be close to that.
You're telling me that a Model 3 Performance, which weighs 800 lbs less, cuts a 3.1s 0-60, 11.5 @115 mph quarter, 60 ft on street tires 1.80, and the GT PE will shave off 0.3s from the 3P's time?If Ford decides to turn the GT PE loose on launch, 480/634 is gonna be good for much better than 1.85-1.90 60fts, regardless of what Tesla is doing with the Why Performance. Bank on it.
What Iām saying is that it is possible depending on what Ford engineers decided to do with the launch control programming. Your Tesla comparison is only one data point. Edit: and to be clear - the GT/PE will not beat an 11.5 1/4 mile, Iām only saying Ford can get the 60 ft times lower than 1.8s, after the launch the higher weight of the GT is going to be the limiting factor. So, with 1.5-1.6 short times I think a GT/PE could be a 12.0-12.2 1/4 car, trap speed maybe 112-113mph. If you look at Tesla Y and 3 acceleration times youāll notice a disconnect between their initial launch G and 60 ft times vs. their 0-60mph and up times. Their 0-60 times over-perform their 60ft as opposed to ICE cars that launch really hard. I suspect this is because of throttling the power in initial hit and then quickly ramping up to max once traction is established. You're telling me that a Model 3 Performance, which weighs 800 lbs less, cuts a 3.1s 0-60, 11.5 @115 mph quarter, 60 ft on street tires 1.80, and the GT PE will shave off 0.3s from the 3P's time?
