Finally got the receiver mounted on my GT. Sorry, not really any installation advice but a local shop installed it. The Rockymounts rack seems to play nice clearance wise.

Really happy not to have to fit this bike in the passenger area!

That looks good!

How does this impact various alerts like collision warnings and parking sensors? Do you have to turn those off?

Also, does this render Blue Cruise unusable (when you have bikes attached)?

Good Q's! I just got it mounted yesterday so I'll have to get back with more details but so far:

1. I get the rear back up warnings when in reverse but everything disappears when normal driving is resumed. BLIS isn't affected.

2. Haven't tried it with BC yet.

BLIS acts up a tiny bit with 2 bikes on. I’ll be on the interstate today for a short time and will try out BlueCruise.

How well does Kick to Open work now after the install? Some others have said K2O is marginal after they got the hitch receiver installed.

Any chance to see the car without the rack? I'm curious how noticeable the receiver is from the back because it actually looks pretty tucked away under the reverse lights.

BlueCruise is for hands-free driving (forward). I don't think it looks behind the car, and even if it wanted to, I don't think there's any radar sensor that can see straight back.

Seems fine except that it’s physically challenging to get close enough to use it because of the presence of the rack. But, installing the actual receiver didn’t affect the sensor.

I’ll grab a pic this weekend. Need to find one of those rubber inserts for the bar receiver. I think it will be nearly unnoticeable.

Yup. No issues tonight, in the dark, with BC and the bikes on…

I am planning to mount the same hitch when my GT arrives. Thanks for posting these pictures. Do you mind measuring the distance from the end of the receiver to the outer edge of the bumper? It looks like it is recessed farther in than might work with my rack.

Thanks!

Here are some pics. I’ll let you do the math. Good luck!

Sorry, for some reason the shots are rotating when they post ?.

Thanks! This is very helpful! Hope you are enjoying your GT. I am so excited to get mine, whenever it shows up. It is somewhere on the way to the dealer, but I am not sure exactly where. Just have to be patient for a few more weeks...
