TPMS on my display says 30 psi but when I plug in my air compressor, it says 42 psi.

I have checked the other three tires and they are all the same as the air compressor.

I am going to call Kaltire tomorrow and make an appointment to get the issue looked into.

Does anyone know what is wrong?

Thanks

Drive the car several miles and see if it updates. If not, then double check with a tire gauge (not the inflator). It’s possible the valve core may be stuck and not opening.

I don't have a tire gauge.

I went for a 5 km drive and here is the display:

I used the gauge on a bike tire pump about ten minutes after I went for a drive.

Help is greatly appreciated.

The outside temperature is 26 degrees Celsius.

Here is what the app says:

First, I would buy a tire gauge if you don't have one. Everyone who drives a car should have a tire gauge. Not sure what to tell you because I don't know if a bike or inflator will read pressure properly unless you can get a reading before putting any air in. They are also notoriously inaccurate in a lot of cases. You could try a 12V reset, otherwise take it to your dealer. The TPMS sensor may have died or failed.

Make sure to reset the tire pressure reading in the settings menu of the car. Had same problem as you before doing it. Can't remember the name of the settings, but if you hold it for a couple of seconds it will reset and then over the course of the next km's of driving it will update it values.

Your answer is in the bottom of that picture:

“Tire pressure data is delayed.”

What’s it say today?

Gonna take it to where I got the tires...Kaltire tomorrow...Will update on here when it gets fixed.

thanks

Why would I have to reset it when it was okay before?

I am at Kaltire now getting the sensor replaced.

They have the tire off.

Here is what it says.

Good to know it's working as intended now with a replaced sensor. I'm going to reiterate what @Mach-Lee said: Get a good tire pressure gauge. TPMS sensors are full of 5% and 10% tolerance electronics. They are just fine for coarse warnings (Hey! Your left rear tire is substantially out of whack with the rest of your tires) as was the original intention. Relying on the numbers they post to set your pressures is not a good idea. A decent gauge is $20 or so. I've got a few of these that I've benchmarked against my known good gauge. I keep one in my car and one loose in my garage near the air hose reel. I know how far off each one is at my preferred pressures so I use them accordingly. I trust my TPMS sensors to tell me that my pressures have gone out of whack after I set them. I do not trust my TPMS sensors to set pressures. 🤔🐩

The sensor is replaced.

All is ok.

Thanks to everyone who helped.

I see, bad sensor. FYI since you have high mileage, your other sensors may fail from low battery soon as well. Just curious, did you ever use slime in any tires ever?
