Will this require a dealer trip or are we expecting this via OTA?

4.2.6 is the OTA.
Oh, got that last week. Cant remember if I was having the motor whine recently before, but it has been something I have always noticed. Gotta go find a reason to drive and check this.

Did they update the details in 4.2.6? When I got it nothing about this was mentioned. Or did you check what was in the update and determine?

The OTA release notes are a total crapshoot if you haven't noticed. They don't mention a lot of things that are included, and even mention things that were actually included in other updates sometimes. So you cannot trust or go by release notes from Ford. I don't expect them to update the notes, but it would be nice if they did.

My 2023 MME Select AWD has the whine between 30 and 38 MPH. Anyone else with a 23 model year have the whine? I note the TSB only refers to MYs '21 and' 22.
Yes. Mine is a 2023 and the whine is distinctive.

It is pointless to message them, just make an appointment at your dealer and tell them this concern and TSB number.
Except the dealer is going to say 'this is for 2021 and 2022 year vehicles and you have a 2023.'

Mine has always made that slight whine around that speed and I consider it a "characteristic" not a fault to be corrected. I have no idea how updating PCM software would make the whine go away. I've still got the slight whine and my car is kept up-to-date software-wise. I thought all MMEs made that sound.

I have the whine on my 23 between 30-40mph.
I also noticed a high pitch whistle sound when accelerating above 65mph.

Have driven the car a few times, I cant notice a whine any more at all. So this may have corrected, it may have corrected awhile back, or I might just be numb to the sound. I will chalk this up to a success!
