My brother ordered a Tesla Model 3 on August 1, 2021. On September 27th,Tesla delivered his new car to his house (56 days).

I ordered a 2021 Premium Mach-e on 8/13/2021. I recently received a notice that I will now get a 2022 model. However, the ADM went from zero to over $50,000. My Mach-e cost increased to $108,000.

As of this date, I do not have a production date (or delivery date), and I have no answers from my dealer as to the cost increase.

Guess your brother is one lucky dog, my brother in law ordered a Model 3 in JULY and was supposed to get it this month, he got an email two weeks ago saying it was delayed until November/December now.

Maybe your brother got a car that a person who ordered it changed their mind on? My friend ordered a Y, the same time as my brother, and it wasn't supposed to be ready until November (now they're even further out like the 3, but it was November when he ordered it). 5 weeks later Tesla called and had one that was close to what he ordered that someone didn't want so he got it asap. It sounds like that's what happened to your brother.

Oh, no, that definitely crossed my mind, but you never know who else reads these and if it would really sway them so I wanted to give actual facts.

The Tesla data seems realistic; I have a friend who bought a Model 3 earlier this summer, I think it might have been 4-8 weeks for her to get it. I don't know the specifics behind how she did it, though.

To me it sounds like the dealer screwed up the order change-over and basically submitted an entirely new order, though. That one is probably fixable and they just need to talk with the dealer and/or Ford, but I would be interested to know what the outcome of that is.

I’d give the guy some credit if this wasn’t his first and only post. Guess he’s a rookie troll.

The wait times over the summer were 2+ months at least except for the higher performance trim which was 1-2 months. VW is also prioritizing the highest ID.4 trim - so it seems manufacturers deal with shortages by pushing for the most expensive trim/model that have the highest profits.

But your brother only got a steering wheel, screen and seats for an interior. ?

And that ADM is either an error or just BS, either way, no one is paying it.

Just fyi I read on the blue oval site that when Ford converted the 2021’s to 2022’s there are actually two orders in now for you… maybe the 50k jump is just that the dealer hasn’t cancelled / removed the 2021 yet. I just hope my dealer actually takes action to not leave me at priority 99 when I was a “12” back in the beginning of September…
