Another step forward - ford pass arrived this morning:)

Possibly a small step back - Power outage in Houston due to unprecedented snow storms in Texas - thats where our boat is atm ?. Let's hope it didn't have much to load and unload
Grande Houston is still in Houston. I was rather hoping she would have left by now but when this was posted I hadn't realised the severity of the snowfall. 35cm according to the news this morning. That's a lot. And I always thought it was hot in Texas. Might have to wait a little bit longer peeps.[/QUOTE]

Think something maybe happening though as for the first time my eta end date has gone blank in the tracker. It was always showing the default 1991. ?Houston gets moving soon.

How long did it take most people to change from "In Production" to the next stage?

My Mach-E AWD ER has been in production for 11 days.

Yes, Yes - I know I need to Zen-out and develop some patience!

Mine was in production for 2 months after it was built. It won't change until it gets ready to go on the train to go to the docks.

I've just ordered a second Mach-e. I saw one available in 10 weeks in black ER RWD so I went for it. I'll probably keep both horses running (was that joke made before? sorry if its (c)) and see what happens... so I guess it's a cancellation.

I'll get the VIN and see what it tells me.... I'd prefer Grey but I like Black... bugger to clean but hay hum. Actually for the price difference I could probably wrap it.

black is stunning if you go to the dedicated black thread and look - especially the most recent photos and videos it looks... amazing.

Yes, it was my second choice... I have just gone off piste and chosen a colour without clearing it first with my wife.. oh boy... I might just tell her Ford made a mistake (which is almost true) or argue that technically black is not actually a colour....

Thats what I done yesterday. 10-14 weeks, better than my original order. I got the VIN from Wonky's tool and the tracker says it is in transit.
Have bamboozled the dealer as he not sure about the cancellation process for original order.
He told me that they don't do the cancellations until I pointed out that when I pressed cancel, it came back with phone your dealer. Still waiting for him to phone back.

OK just looking to change my order. My car is meant to have been build last week but I'm pretty sure it hasn't been. If I change colour I can have it in 10 to 14 weeks which takes me to the end of May, but I was told mine is due end of May...Will I be getting it earlier or not?

I believe it's because they don't want to use incentives here right now as demand is very high and supply is limited. but in the USA they are bending over backwards to provide incentives.
Yabadabadoooo Guys! I checked the tracker this morning and it still said In Order Processing. I have just checked again and it has changed to In Production. That's 14 months after I put in the order. Looking forward to getting my Carbonised Grey First Edition sometime in the next decade. Perhaps I will get it in time for my birthday in May. Build time - say 2 weeks; Waiting quayside time - say another 2 weeks; In transit to Europe somewhere (I don't think they come directly to UK) - say another 2 weeks; Hold up due to Brexit fiasco - say 4 weeks; On second thoughts perhaps I am being optimistic anticipating delivery sometime in May. Any thoughts please...

I think any December car may be suspect. Mine was built 22 December. @ChasingCoral
??‍♂

Reading his posts on his trials and tribulations I admire the stoicism of @ChasingCoral. Unfortunately I am not cut from quite the same cloth and would by now have lost the plot.

I am beginning to have cold feet.

I understand the first year production thing and fully understand there will be those that will tolerate some issues and inconvenience to have what I believe is an exciting car.

My concern is on a number of fronts.

Firstly this is a replacement a 10 year old Audi Q5 75% driven by my wife that has never let us down. It has the original battery that has never been touched. She has no interest in the cars operation only that it is comfortable and reliable. If the Mach e stranded her or failed to let her in or start, that would likely be it. There is no way she would trip the frunk, strip the cover panels and boost the battery. Myself it has been years since I was concerned that a car might let me down.

I have no doubt that in the US they will resolve the issues however they do have a huge network of Ford dealers and engineering support. Witness the fact that Ford engineers attended @chasingcorals dealer the next day. Judging by the lack of interest and knowledge of the car exhibited by Ford UK I doubt that same knowledgable technical support would be forthcoming. They have never responded to any of the questions I have asked.

Unfortunately the nearest Ford Mach e dealer to me is 25miles away so any service issue is a hassle in its own right. There also seems to be good Ford recovery in the US I am not clear what arrangements are here.

I am not seeking to dampen the enthusiasm of others but just to get an understanding of others thoughts. I would be perfectly happy to deal with odd software glitches or maybe a bit of noise but unless Ford can openly say what the LVB, power train, charging issue was or is and what the solutions are I may pull the plug.
