I dropped off my personal MME plates to the dealer last week in anticipation - and he looked at me as if I’d just deposited a paper bag full of cat poo.

Despite mine technically being about 2 weeks away there was no interest in booking appointments to do finance or anything.

Gotta love the dealer network!
I think the finance is a quick process if you've cleared that initial credit check earlier this century.

My dealer was going to leave that to when we get a more accurate ETA. Which isn't going to happen now as the rate is 5% so I've gone to the TSB and got additional borrowing at half that rate.

Thanks to a suggestion on here late last year.

What a load of ? My vista has been updated to Compuond In ANT CUST which presumably means it has done all its checks but delivery date has gone back another week to 5 June. Not what I wanted to hear. The staff canteen calender will need replacing soon with all the dart holes in it.
I had my suspicions my new May 23rd was another load of Ford BS.

Hanging in here only due to the £3k off otherwise I'd consider either a) more wine or b)looking at an alternative or c)both

I had a compound out with a code which he said meant QCs done but I can't remember the code he said but it wasn't CUST.

behind closed doors surely dealers are now stressed and worried.

Antwerp seems to be a bit of a communications black hole even by Ford’s standards.

My dealer doesn’t know what’s going on and the concierge is trying to find out. My ETA is 8 weeks away tomorrow...?‍♂

I guess it’s just another chapter in our adventure....

OK just had my test drive. SR RWD which is the model I've ordered.

Loved the drive. It was surprisingly quick to get used to OPD and I can see this will become default once I get my car.

Lift was nice and the car handled really well around corners. No seasickness, I didnt notice anything in this regard.

I didnt hear any screen buzz as such but I was definitely aware of a high pitched frequency which was continuous for the whole drive.

Reverse beep was very quiet from the inside. Not sure what it was like from outside.

The SR is nice but definitely not premium. They had a AWD ER in the showroom and no comparison in finnsh e.g. seats, dash, B&O bar etc. A few other we nigglies with the entry level model but nothing I didnt know already, like no powered boot which in modern car terms is hardly high end these days. Also no powered mirrors is something I will miss because of where I park at work but hey.

Overall, I loved it and cannot wait until mine arrives now.

Also they had someone over from Ford England to answer queries about the car. I asked about why the length of delay at Antwerp. In his opinion he thinks they are trying to herd a lot of the incoming cars together to rationalise the shipping across the UK. This made me wonder then is the recent delay to the first tranche of cars to wait on the more recent incoming cars like mine on the Grande Florida. I'd be surprised they would do this given the customer grievances they are aware of but you never know. Just a thought.

I think I have to cancel my test drive. I have so much work to do and to boot my wife broke her foot and I am doing the school run every day. I can't justify the time to go and have fun. I will take it as read that everyone has enjoyed the car and there arent many negative reviews

This is what has annoyed me with this process. The guy you spoke to works for Ford. He should know what’s happening with these cars and not have to resort to ‘opinions’....

You would think that the team involved in promoting these cars would be kept in the loop.

Too many times I’ve dealt with a Ford representative and been told ‘I think this’ or ‘I’m not really sure’.

Oh well, I suppose the car will be a nice Christmas present when it does arrive...?

Ford Trust Edgware? If so, I think that high pitched buzz you’re hearing might have been the air conditioner. I noticed that in the red SR RWD I test drove there.

Unfortunately the teams that are involved with these cars are NOT being kept in the loop. You only have to see the problems we get from the concierge team. They are not being given the information to pass to us or if they are they are told not to share for whatever reasons. I really feel for them. Given that Rebecca, and now Hannah, seem to be dealing with our frustations with one hand tied behind their backs whilst being strung upside down I personally think they have done a good job. I think there are more issues with our cars than we are being led to believe which is why our delivery dates keep moving the wrong way. The longer they stay in Antwerp the more issues they seem to find. However, if what @Iwantonenow has said is true, and I have no reason to doubt it, then perhaps at long last the light at the end of the tunnel is getting larger.

Would contacting motoring journalists or TV's watchdog and blowing the gaff on this be the way to go with this?

I very much doubt it. The way Ford have been communicating they will probably just say that the delays are due to "additional QC checks so our customers receive the quality of car that they deserve". The only reason we know of the issues is because of our friends on the other side of the pond have been our guinea pigs. If Ford had done what they were initially hoping for, a joint US and UK/EU launch we would ALL be driving around (if we were lucky) in substandard/faulty cars. Be thankful for small mercies.

Yeah. Things are not adding up.

I wonder what happened with the company doing the QC checks for Ford. I thought they made a big thing about being able to do 300 checks a day?

Makes you wonder about the issues that have been discovered. But then didn’t someone receive one in Holland?

I’m just confused. ?

I think Lauren's was either Grande Florida or Houston and followed similar ETA dates and changes as mine.
