I learned something today. I had no idea that car washes offered underbody pressure washing!

I use an automatic wash near home when needed, this topic was very helpful in maybe avoiding an issue with the first wash [I'll use painters tape the first time]. My plan is to cheat slightly right as to eliminate the left being any closer than necessary. I'll also pay attention to the direction of the brushes, I believe they spin clockwise on the left (not sure the right) so they could never rip off the door with that direction of motion. Once verified I'll not bother with the tape in the future, even if the door opens it won't get ripped off and the interior of the charge port is water resistant anyway.

I suspect as Mach-Lee suggested that the pressure of the brushing and alternating direction are the underlying issue with any damages occurring during a wash.

It's fine. the battery is in a water tight case.
Definitely.

I’ve been through flood water halfway up the wheels and after around 100,000 miles in 3 years I went to see my battery when it was removed for the HVBJB job and it was perfectly clean, dry, oxidation/corrosion free 👍

Edit: Hadn’t realised I’d already posted here before 🤦‍♂️

My MME was overdue, got its first wash today. I used a nearby wash that uses brushes (I don't wash often enough to care/expect long term paint issues) and had no charge port opening issue. The brushes move in both directions and have some force, I'd expect this to pop open a door that wasn't well designed but it did not. For those with the issue I suspect the pressure settings at the wash is the culprit, not the MME's charge door design.
