Give them Priuses or Bolt's. Cops don't need to go nearly as fast as they think they do.

I admit to not knowing anything about cop response times, but I know a little bit about EMS and rapid response doesn't save nearly as many lives as fire departments would have you think. In fact, one study showed fast response times were a net negative because they caused accidents.

But, you'll never change them. I work around cops, I'm not one and not in the PD department, and they'll go into a routine traffic stop with a hand on their gun, but they won't wear a mask to save their lives, which is literally the case.

That's a car for police chief. As a patrol car it's not suitable. It would need constant charging, making it's availability pretty poor, and I doubt it can take the amount of abuse necessary. It's also too small for police needs.

Your basis for that? A typical patrol vehicle spends 50-100 miles per day and idles for another 3-5 hours. Anyways, a 250 mile range is plenty to not spend any time charging during a 10 hour shift and plenty of time to charge at a L2 charger.

Our county (Montgomery County, MD) is now evaluating an E4s for police use,

for county fleet administration (Police car on left, admin car on right),

and another as the personal car for the County Executive.

All were at yesterday's National Drive Electric Week event in Poolesville, MD.

They’ve also been authorized to test a GT as a Police Interceptor.

They will probably do what they did for the NASCAR pace car safety lights: surface mounts fore and aft, interior windshield and back glass mounted strobes, surface mounts on the mirrors and fenders.
You missed the joke. In Michigan ... EVERY Michigan State Police car has the giant red "gumball" mounted in the center of the roof. Even when they converted from traditional light bulb with rotating reflector to a strobe flash.... they STILL retained the giant "gumball" on Michigan State Police cars (except now it's a strobe with no mechanical rotating reflector) ... it's their signature look.

Fixed that for you.
As the non-post-police, I'm glad to see all this attention to police use of the Mach-E and proper placement of the ?.

Well you may not be able to outrun the Motorola but you can outrun the EV that is not charged!

That's due to lack of training. They admitted that in a full article.
