Hi guys. I just checked on my order and I noticed that there was a new link that says I am preapproved for financing. Has anyone actually seen rates to own this thing yet?

This link below has the Ford Options residuals and RCL rates. Ford Options rates are on the Mach-E build/price site (click on the calculator after configuring your vehicle).

So . . . I do have a question about this. If you have an order, and you look at the current financing deals in your area, mine says take vehicle delivery by 1/4/2021. Options in my area has $2,500 Retail Cash incentive. Can you lock that incentive in, or are you bound by whatever is available at the time of delivery.
With a 12/17 current production date, doubtful I will get delivery by 1/4.
And . . . if the deal after 1/4 is better, can you switch?

I work for a Honda dealership and I can tell you that the HRV that is built in Mexico takes a good 5 weeks to get to us from date of build so unless Ford has some express service, my 12/18 build I don't expect until mid January minimum

Usually, you are only eligible for whatever incentives are available at the time of purchase/delivery.

I agree, that is usually true.

Not sure about Ford, but back when I was a credit analyst for Chrysler Financial there was a 'sold order protection' that allowed you to use the APR programs that were available at the time of order or delivery. May want to check with your dealer if that is available. But in your case you would either get the programs from back when you ordered or what is available at delivery, not last months programs.

Doesn't really apply to me either since there were no programs back at the end of June when I ordered. So if I don't take delivery by Jan 4 then we get whatever the programs are in January.

Checked out your link and thanks for posting!

However, unless there is an update, this is what was said in the link:

"We are yet to see standard leasing residuals but have confirmed it will in fact be an option. Ford Options is only available in 36 or 48 month long terms. Red Carpet Leasing for the Mustang Mach E is only offered at 36 or 39 month long terms."

It would seem that we have no new information other than what we had several weeks ago:

  • We do not yet know the residuals
  • We do not yet know the interest rates

All we do know is the lease terms, 37 or 39 months.

  • We do not yet know the residuals
  • We do not yet know the interest rates
  • The Ford Options residuals are published in the link provided. True, the RCL residuals have not been publicly published that I know of (but are higher than the Options residuals).
  • The RCL rates are published on the provided link. Ford Options rates are shown in the calculator on the Mach-E build and price.

As I said and quoting you:

  • "the RCL residuals have not been publicly published that I know of"
  • The interest rate for 1st tier of 5.4% cannot be accurate, as this would produce a monthly payment that no one would accept:
Using the Premium AWD LR, with a MSRP of $54,700 + destination charge of $1,100. MSRP of $55,800 and a very high residual of 60%, interest rate of 5.4% and sales tax of 8%.

  • the monthly payments are $820 without tax; and
  • $885 per month with tax

The Tesla Model Y is vs. $633 per month without tax and $688 with tax.

I’m not going round and round with you on this, I’m just confirming the facts. The RCL rates shown in the link are accurate as of the current RCL programs. You may not like it but that’s what they are as of now. Not to say that they cannot change in the future.

It's when you take delivery. But just so you know, in my area that same $2,500 incentive has been going on for months now, and every time it's set to expire, it automatically extends again for another month. So I'd expect it to keep on getting extended.

I hear you:

My point is that Ford cannot be serious about a RCL with an interest rate of 5.4%. It is not whether "I like it or not": an interest rate of 5.4% makes lease payments higher than the Option plan and that is assuming a high residual of 60%. No one who has ever leased or knows anything about leasing will go for a RCL with a monthly payment this high.

Without a RCL all that you have left is the purchase of the MME:

  • Cash
  • Finance
  • Option Plan

That leaves those of us who lease out.
