I’ve had this happen on streets I drive regularly and I know it was not errant speed sign recognition. The car also uses gps map data which has errors. One of my problem areas magically fixed itself, due to gps map data updates, I presume.

Turn off sign recognition.
It’s a annoying gimmick
Best to use your eyes when driving
I enjoy all the signs on the roads
We heard.

We now know fully how you feel about it and what works for you where you predominantly drive.

Turn on speed recognition. It gets distracted far less than the average driver.

If you use cruise control at all, and don’t use speed recognition, you are a hypocrite.

Just remember… it is a driver ASSISTANCE program, not a driver REPLACEMENT program.

The dash say 70.
It’s a database issue. There’s a section of road here where the database shows a 35 mph speed limit in a 60 zone. It was 35 when that section of road was being built. Unfortunately for both of us I have idea how to report the issue. I just override the acc and set the proper speed.

it is definitely camera based, I have zero doubt about that.
It uses cameras as well as database information. The spot near my house where it slows to 35 in a 60 zone has no signs there at all. Other spots on the island with similar issues have no signs at the slow down either. It’s why drivers need to be aware so that the car is doing what you intend.

At a specific spot on US 24 the car accelerates to 70 mph where the speed limit is 55. I don’t travel that route often but it has happened twice. I was told by Ford Guide to take it to the dealer, which I will do.
It's an intelligent cruise issue. There is a stretch of A1A near me that was 55 before a hurricane washed it out. They rebuilt it as a 25 but intelligent cruise does not know and treats spots a 55mph. Also not good with road construction sites driving thru Orlando. I just use adaptive cruise. Intelligent was awful.

Not sure I follow that logic. I anticipate using adaptive cruise control but not the intelligent feature. I can figure out how fast I want to go without having the car read signs for me. I don’t see what’s hypocritical about that

My response was a bit tongue in cheek, and directed at the comment I replied to about it being merely a gimmick.

you can also figure out how fast to go without cruise control of any kind. 🤷‍♂️

Indeed. I actually never use cruise control on either of my cars but am willing to try it on the MME (adaptive that is, not intelligent :)).

Is that the same A1A where,
“Girls were hot wearing less than bikinis”
And
“Rockman lovers driving Lamborghinis”???

Quoting the great V Ice. " When I'm cruisin', to A-1-A|Zero to 60, 4 seconds don't play|This ain't no joke, and you can see the smoke|I'm burnin' rubba"

Of course 0-60 in a 5.0 was 5.9 seconds so a good match for my RWD.

Not too long ago I was driving on a portion of road with immediately adjacent and parallel toll/non-toll access where toll section had higher speed limit. IIRC car nav suggested I take the toll lane (it wasn't busy so thanks, but no). I'm not sure if it was cameras picking up the higher speed limit posted *between the lanes or lack of GPS precision but car suddenly accelerated after the lanes split.

So, +1 on driver assistance not replacement. Remain aware of surroundings.
