Vinfast VF-8 being tested in Arizona

Vinfast has a strange business model where they're going to try and sell you the car and rent you the battery via a subscription, I believe.

WTF?! The range is only 179 miles. lol. At least they dropped their previous battery subscription plan- all sold or leased vehicles now include the battery.

I had one VF8 for wife reserved and VF9 7 seater. We passed last week on the VF 8 city trim. Its nice looking, steering is super reponsive, but No horsepower, no range, info screen reset twice while driving 2 blocks. We had to stop. Towing with a vinfast. Not likely and not safe. Our old Kia Niro Ev was a better ride for the $$$$ they are asking

Definitely disappointing because the 3-row EV market is lacking.

I had hopes it would be decent but reviews are not positive and the price + specs sound like another Solterra... underwhelming.

I saw one white VF8 on streets in Ann Arbor area, logos were covered in white stickers. Manufacturer plates. Didn’t look any bigger than Mach-e. Maybe they are testing the car in really bad Michigan roads?

VF8 won't sell because it is just another smallish crossover like the Mach-E, Model Y, ID.4, EV6, Ioniq 5, Solterra, Ariya, Ocean, etc. and another half dozen.

VF9 is the 3 row SUV that is yet to be released.

Agree, the VF9 will sell as it's a 3 row EV CUV that is priced quite well.

They are pricing them either to own or subscription battery.

Saw them at the LA Auto show recently.

Just noticed an old Infiniti dealership nearby is now a Vinfast dealership. Quite a few popping up in the Toronto area. Not to my liking tho...

Don't know why everyone is complaining about towing with this. I'm sure if you have a big enough hook or a flatbed you can tow this car anywhere you need to.

Hopefully the VF9 has a range larger than 179 miles....that's almost Mazda MX30 bad! It's a good looking SUV but I strongly dislike its Tesla style center screen setup.

Kyle Connor (Out of Spec Reviews) gives a very negative review of the VF8.
