Not too surprising since those cars already run Android as the base OS. They basically are just allowing the YouTube app to be installed on the Car OS now.

I know sync 3 was QNX based, what is sync 4/4a based on?

QNX also.

Ford plans on moving to Google for their OS, but not until next year. And with Ford's track record with infotainment, there likely won't be an option to upgrade officially.

QNX still? Yuck, that makes sense why it is randomly sluggish and why we can't have good apps..
