Waiting for my MME - It's ready (OpenEVSE)

Decided to go ahead and buy the kit to put together. What firmware is everyone running that's known to work well with the Mach-e? Does the 7.1.3 work for our vehicles?

I haven't gotten there yet to know. Any day now. Can't stand the wait... The others with OpenEVSE seemed to say there was no issue previously in other threads.

I see mine running 7.1.3 and 4.0.0. Ordered in may. So if you're buying a new one you likely have the same. Now to go test on my Mach-E finally.

Worked fine on 4.0.0 other than the temperature reading on the website and the lifetime counter didn't work properly. Updated to 4.1.0 and now everything seems to be working properly as a FYI.

The 4.1.0 is the wifi firmware right? My order shipped but before it did I inquired about the USB firmware updater and they threw it in the order for me for free! Really happy with these guys so far based on the customer service.

Yep, 4.1.0 is a wifi firmware. The github didn't have great instructions for how to upgrade or sanity check that but it seemed pretty straight forward to pick the file for the board they sent, unzip and select it for update over the webpage.

The 7.1.3 will be the main board firmware that you'll need a AVR to update. Luckily I already have one if needed, but seemed to work great so far. Really like how it works and the 1A increments for charging. Ford really should have built this into the car...

my problem was doing things the hard way and setting up emoncms on my server instead of running the free account. I despise the cloud…

Damn that's more than I was interested in doing lol. Pretty impressed with what you get for the money though. Love that if something fails you can repair it rather than deal with a manufacturer or straight replacement.

Default rate was 24A. Switched to 40 but noticed it took a reboot to take effect.

Huh... I can change it on the fly and it takes without a reboot, even when live charging,
