Besides - lots of new EVs coming out in 2021 (Nissan Ariya looks interesting). Maybe we'll look back on this and thank NJ for delaying our purchase?
Maybe. Probably wouldn't get a nissan. In fact, this will probably push me to just hang on the edge until 2024 when the options will be plentiful, newer battery tech coming, etc. My sons, 20 & 22, are devastated. ..haha..

Looks like the number of cancellations will go up but i see some new members on the forum who will want to order them. Ford has no incentive to help.

For NJ folks like myself this sucks, but the window of this rebate was really short and if you were buying the MME based on a tight funds maybe it's a good idea to pass for now. Why stretch yourself, there are many other EV's priced much lower that are very functional as well as sporty. Since I am buying the FE the rebate didn't apply, but when I bought the the Nissan Leaf 2 years ago it would have been nice to get. I still got other rebates and discounts off the MSRP after the Nissan XPLAN was applied. This really is not a Ford issue rather the state going back on a clear air initiative. All EV's lose out in NJ, it's just the state of economics and false promises by our elected leaders.

It was supposed to be a 10 year program. As the article above said, Covid led to a reshuffling of funds - the program is supposed to come back in the summer of 2021. It's just us that buy our MME's in the next couple of months that are SOL

While I sympathize with you guys across the Delaware River, and I would be really pissed too if I found myself in the same situation, I have to say the subsidies are really tax breaks for the upper income folks to begin with given the price of most BEVs on the market today. With state governments' finance in tatters as a result of the pandemic, they have to look for places to cut. I haven't gotten in line for a Mach-E yet, because I want to be able to test drive one as well as getting feedback from early adopters.

I get your point, I just never count on my local government being on my side. We can get into a long thread but this is a common theme in NJ. Let's talk about the real estate tax breaks in NJ......

Wouldn't surprise me if it came back, but at a fraction on the value.

I didn't realize they were also exempt from sales tax. That's huge in itself. My sales tax with be nearly $4000 (in CO, not NJ) . And that's at a (somewhat) lower rate than the metro are pays.

I got that email earlier today and was pissed! But what can you do? I just hope it comes back when they promise. If anything this will force me to wait to get a Mach-E or by then maybe something else will be out thats even better!

I guess this is supposed to mean that I'm incorrectly feeling entitled, like I expect the state to do something for me especially - like the way they put in a tunnel across the bay so trump's casino traffic wouldn't have to drive through AC?
