There has been multiple issues we have had with this car where we were without for a couple of months in the past. Ford overall has been a nightmare to work with from previous issues and now this.
We also owned a Mustang as well a couple years ago and while the vehicle didn’t give us issues, Ford did with times we have brought it in for maintenance. Their customer service has been horrible compared to other car manufacturers we have dealt with.
I'm just curious, are you confusing dealing with Ford--or are you dealing with your dealership? Bringing your car in for maintenance is the dealership not Ford. Just asking.

To the OP, I understand and share your frustration. Really, I do. A brand new car shouldn't be stuck at the service center awaiting repairs for this long. It's important to understand that in Ford's 120-year history of manufacturing automobiles, the Mach-E is the first-ever model that has a substantially different powertrain. It's fully electric. A first generation, first-of-its kind vehicle such as this is going to have a few issues here and there. My wife and I accepted that risk when we took delivery of ours.

You will occasionally come across similar complains across all brands, makes and models. Some people take delivery of a new Kia, or a Chevy, and the transmission craps out at 5,000 miles. Today's cars, whether they're ICE or Electric, are still a sum of a million parts. Occasional failures do happen.

I hope that Ford provides you with a loaner during your repair period, and I'm crossing my fingers for a quick resolution.

However, to urge others to avoid buying a car from a car company that produces 1.7 million vehicles/year is a bit of a stretch.

Again, I understand your frustration, and it is well founded. But believe me, other car brands suffer similar, occasional failures with their vehicles.
Is this really still true? This may be a first generation platform but Ford HAS had about 3 years to fix bugs, and from what I read they have been doing so.

I guess my thought is that by this time the Mach E should be "well sorted."

Mine is coming in a few weeks...hoping for (and kind of expecting) a smooth experience!

To OP, yours is a horrible experience.
All I can do is share my experience with Ford and my local dealership.
My first Mache left me stranded 3 times, needing towing back to the dealership each time.
After the third time, the owner of the dealership sat down with me and offered up 3 choices.
1. buy back the car for the price I had paid.
2. Go on the lot and pick out another car, whatever model I wanted and he would honor the money paid for the Mache and we would settle the difference in cost.
3. Leave with another Mache, same year and model that he had just received.
I picked the third option, have not regretted it since.

Sometimes things work out...

My sister and I have been eyeballing the BMW i4 as it will likely replace her own Mach-E. Ford has had 6 months to fix our grievances aside from the numerous recalls. We may very well keep it for my wife’s sake but it’ll be the last Ford.
The BMW i4 has had 2 recalls on it in 2022. One was risk of internal damage in the battery that could lead to a fire. The other was issue with not displaying critical messages or warning lights that could lead to a crash.

Most of the new EVs have had problems. The Lucid would go in the wrong direction, Porsche also had problems with the taycan bricking, etc. It's how the manufacturer deal with the recall.

In Ford's case, it's obviously not up to their customers' expectations.

My congratulations you was so lucky! I suspect at that day the real owner was trapped somewhere in the basement and you was talking with Santa🎅

I agreee with the Op 100%! It's disgraceful and sad at the same time, but not surprising for the world we live in these days.

I actually DID buy another Ford! Although we no longer have the MME we have had nothing but good experiences with multiple Ford dealers! It’s not an EV but still fun to drive and gets decent gas mileage.

The OP says their location is "Frisco." I assume that's in Texas?
Has to be. No one from SF ever calls it Frisco.

I’m going to chime in with a different perspective.

Dealership I bought the car from mid June 2021.

Initially okay experience purchasing of lot, purchased for a tiny ADM. When buying, kinda threw them for a loop when I complained about the lack of a second fob, and made it a proviso of the deal that they threw one in. They told me that a second key couldn’t be programmed, I knew they were lying, but the terms of the deal were as originally arranged.

Getting the license plate holder, and Subsequent glass recall attempts with them were painful, and eventually trying to get a key programmed by them at my cost was rough. They showed that they were not a dealership I want to deal with, for reasons I won’t detail here.

In between those things, after less than 8 months of ownership, had the dreaded HVJB failure. Car was in the shop of the dealership closer to my home for almost a month. Although an imperfect situation, I got Ford Corporate involved early, and it’s been a worry free car since. There are bugs and quirks and OS/UI features promised that haven’t been delivered, but as a car, it’s great.

I never thought I would buy a Ford, but I wouldn’t hesitate to buy again.

Yeah, so glad I got a job 2 ‘21 exactly a year ago. I have 13k miles on my AWD SR Premium. Zero issues. MSRP of $51k, and got the full tax credit, with no ADM. I’m driving this car a LONG time.
Same here. We took delivery in Dec of last year. The car now has 16,000 miles on it. Zero issues. Premium AWD Extended Battery. I paid MSRP, and got the full $7500 fed credit too.

Some of you may remember my other thread regarding our latest critical failure, as well as the six other times our Mach-E has been in the dealership due to recalls and other critical failures.

To recap, my Mach-E received the infamous "Stop Safely Now" message (12V Battery Bricked) and had to get it towed. It has been at the dealership for two weeks now with no movement, figuratively or literally.

An official case has been opened with Ford and we have not heard from our Case Specialist after countless emails, texts and voicemails. Our service advisor at the dealership has also tried contacting the Case Specialist numerous times with zero success. We were expecting to hear from her by Tuesday, 12/6...didn't happen. We chatted and spoke to another specialist on 12/7 and they said that our Case Specialist had it scheduled on her calendar to call us by EOD on 12/7. Also didn't happen. One more time (AAAAAAARRGGHHH!!!) we contacted a specialist through the online chat feature on 12/8, only to be told we would FOR SURE be contacted by our Case Specialist no later than 12/10. You already know what happened, right? Yep, she never called. This is honestly insane.

Our family and friends keep reminding us that we are being held hostage by Ford. And we completely agree. Not only is the Mach-E out of our possession, but it is completely inoperable. There's literally no ETA on next steps, due to the global battery and chip shortage. So, what does that mean? Well, it means we are simply stuck paying for a premium electric vehicle we don't even have. And because of Ford's no loaner policy, my family now has to share my husband's car, which is not only causing issues with getting to and from work, but more importantly issues with our special needs child's daily transportation to and from school.

We've spoken to two lawyers about pursuing Texas Lemon Law, as well as damages incurred. The major issue with this path of action is the time it takes for a case like this to run its course.

In addition, we recently shared this story with several major news outlets — all of whom find our situation appalling. But not just our situation: every Mach-E owner, former or present. Ford's lack of ownership for those consumers out there who are suffering and plagued by the Mach-E's many failures must come to light. We must get them to start taking responsibility and doing the right thing: getting consumers out of these vehicles and back on their feet. I know there's a class action lawsuit regarding the sudden and total loss of power, but it seems like there needs to be one for this "Stop Safely Now/12V Battery" failure.

We know many of you have been through similar or worse with the Mach-E, so we are open to hearing any suggestions.

At this point, ALL WE WANT is for Ford to take accountability through a manufacturer buyback that zeroes out our loan, so that we can start over and leave this nightmare in the rear view. Because everything we are going through, every minute of every day, is irrevocably unacceptable.
Actually, the Texas Lemon Law process is pretty expedient. You open a case, email or mail the proper notification form to the manufacturer and the dealer(s) servicing your vehicle, and within 10 days they must provide a remedy or your case rep from the TXDMV motions the complaint be reviewed by the review committee. This is where you and the manufacturer and others will have a chance to speak to your case, and they will decide if it must be repurchased, replaced, or other. Looking at maybe 20-30 days. They have a free sample form to send the manufacturer and dealer if you need one. $35 to get the case started, no additional costs unless you hire your own lawyer. Sorry this happened to you, and I hope you find a remedy for it.

the "dreaded HVJB failure" should be a full recall and fix by appointment. key word "dreaded". Ruins the experience of the car with all this "dreading". Just do the right thing Ford! geeze...
I don’t disagree.
