Yeah. You know I don't dislike Tesla. But after the MachE drama yesterday, I was not excited to go configure a 3 or Y LR. I really like the MachE and where I live in a sea of Teslas it would be nice to drive something different.
Very sorry to hear of your situation. I would have probably picked up a Model 3 or Model Y if the MME wasn't introduced. I test drove a Model Y in order to get a good basis of comparison to the MME, and it's a very good car. Lots of good reasons to buy one of those models; if you do end up going that way, I hope the federal government re-ups the tax incentive so you can get the same tax break you were anticipating with the MME. Better yet, I hope your dealership is able to find you a replacement vehicle and you can still end up with your first choice :)

Or waiting to fill a traincar. I doubt they'll head out with a partially filled car.
True, but I really doubt that's the issue. There's thousands of MMEs in the pipeline to ship, and only about 10-12 fit in an autorack railcar (maybe 15-18 on some). And there's all kinds of other car models they're loaded in with. The bottleneck is shipping capacity.

I can't believe the genreal manager at the dealership can't get a straight answer form Ford reps on what happened. The whole thing is just weird . .

I was told in another post that the rail car shipping bottleneck was over. That the storage of Mach E's at the plant is way down in numbers from December. Sounds like you're saying that there still is a bottleneck of unshipped Mach E's. How do we know? Any recent satellite pictures?

Don‘t expect any new satellite pics. Mopey used his one freebie.
Bummer! I didn't know where they came from and that there was a limit on them. Don't we have insiders on the forum who know what the current situation is?

there's been some subtle hints that there's enough visibility at Ford Corporate around the existence of this forum and around what's said on it that I suspect there's a certain amount of care being taken now in what is being said that wasn't being taken before.

note I am not in any way an "insider" - I'm just doing some reading between the lines.

The bottleneck at the time of OKTB was the sheer volume of cars waiting to be shipped. While that has abated, the restricting factor remains the decade-long lack of Autoracks in North America. As car tastes have shifted towards pickups and SUV's, the autoracks available can haul fewer of those cars compared to your average sedan. The SUVs, CUVs, and Pickups are taller and sometimes longer. There's also only so tall a railroad car manufacturer can build an autorack. And only so much demand for new autoracks.

Hence, the bottleneck is now where it always is: logistics.

Boo! Keep an eye out for an abandoned MME? Like yours will be some day now... This could still happen to any of us that are expecting. Mine already sat in Mexico for weeks before shipping bc of some qa delay, maybe the KC delay, maybe your issue. Who knows.
I got one that the person who ordered it didn't pick up. It didn't have exactly what I ordered in mine, and was a different color - I ordered silver and my car is black, but I liked that color too. So it's possible!

So something is going on with my vehicle too. I spoke to Kansas City Southern, who told me my rail car arrived in KC on 2/17/21 and was unloaded on 2/22/2021. (palsapp still says pending) I was told by the KCS person that the same rail car was headed back to Mexico empty. My delivery window was 3/4/21 to 3/11/2021 and was pushed back today to 3/18/21 to 3/25/21. Crickets from Ford in terms of an e-mail. My dealer is basically lazy and worthless and says they don't know anything other than what is in the VV report which they did send me last week but it's clearly inaccurate. I have no idea if my vehicle is just sitting in KC or has been taken somewhere else or if it even left Mexico honestly (ford corproate says it is in transit).
