BlueCruise is finally rolling out. Anyone have any insight into shag’s next? If memory serves, @ChasingCoral said something about a 2.8.X series of updates that would culminate in remote frunk release but I believe someone else said that the release numbering would change?

I don't really need a remote frunk button, but I'll throw some more money at a short term FDRS subscription just to see it work I guess.

Please update this thread if you see modules corresponding to OTA 2.8.xx showing up in FDRS for Job 1 '21 vehicles w/ early access.

Just curious where was the 2.8.xx naming scheme confirmed?? It seems like a huge jump from 2.5.x. I really just want the remote frunk release, youtube/netflix, the power/regen bar, and added blue cruise functionality would be nice (slow down on curves and bends, lane changing, and take exits)

I think 2.7.1 is the only pending update that has been announced through official channels.

The updated numbering hasn't been confirmed, but was rumored that when the BC updates go out to everyone, they will have new numbering because they changed some stuff in the updates.

Hopefully we'll start seeing that roll out in the next few weeks.

Past that, there are some sync performance improvements coming in the summer sometime.

This was mentioned in an email to a customer in Europe referencing a European release in July.

It’s possible the renumbering of the BC updates would make the last one 2.8.3 instead of 2.5.3, but I doubt that would include the frunk without testing it ahead of time. I hope the frunk will still get released by the summer.

2.8 will be the new 2.5.
2.3.x -> 2.6.x
2.4.x -> 2.7.x
2.5.x -> 2.8.x

My intel was that the public won't ever see the 2.4 and 2.5 PowerUps, they'll see 2.7 and 2.8 instead.

All of that makes sense, except the 2.3x -> 2.6.x. The 2.3.0 update is already out to the general public, would people get it again?

I just picked up my Mach-E this past weekend and the FordPass app has the frunk release button and it’s functional.
