What’s wrong with my Mach-E update module?

Hey guys,

On Nov 4th I got the software update screen telling me 1.7.1 was installed.
However I didn’t get any of the changes, I waited a few days: nothing.

It’s been 9 days still nothing.

I noticed other things too:
- I can connect to my home wifi but the car never connects to it automatically
- Automatic sw updates cannot be turned on (it used to be)


what’s going on?

Your car is in the middle of the update. Many users are in the same situation you are. At the moment there isn't a known fix except to wait for Ford to figure it out. They are actively working on it.

Unfortunately, we don't know what is causing it to take so long, or outright fail for some people.

A few users have taken the car to the dealer, but the dealers haven't gotten much info from Ford on what to do so they are just trying random fixes, so at this point its not worth going to a dealer over.

A few users that have the issue have reported it to the Early Access team to get some help and they are working it from the back end.

From the server pinging the car to start the update, it will keep trying over and over for 15 days before it considers the update failed

Unfortunately, I am one of those people who took their car to the dealership per the direction of the technician I talked to at Ford when I called for help. The car is still sitting there going on three weeks. Fortunately I took Ben’s advice and reported my situation to the Early Access team last Thursday. They responded immediately with a phone call and are working on my problem. My advice is do not take your car to the dealership over this update issue or you could be without your MME for a long time!

My 1.7.1 "update" came on 11/01/21 and I'm still in the exact same limbo as you are... Only difference I can tell is my Mach-E connects to my home wifi...

Since yesterday it seems to hold connection now and I keep it plugged but nothing to report…
