Came across this retractable front license plate holder today from Tego
Thoughts? About $350 bucks.

1. I'm not interested in scamming toll systems by retracting my plate.
2. I don't want to spend 5X more for a retractable version of what Craig's bracket does.
3. This would have to be installed under the car, making holes in the aerodynamic vehicle bottom and perhaps further reducing already low (5.8") ground clearance.

Yeah this popped up previously. Big question here is dropping the power cable down into the bottom of the front end - as well as what you have to work with there given the battery and other "frunk junk" that exists.

Appreciate all of the feedback. I didnt even consider how we would make the connections to power it and was not planning to evade any toll booths. :) thinking it would be nice to hide the plate when parked and only present it when driving. I purhased a bracket from Craigs in the past and they are very easy to install, and no damage to the vehcile. Thanks

I'm no longer opposed to the stock front plate bracket, so I would not be particularly unhappy, but I really think that ought to be left for the customers to decide on via the dealers.

I'd prefer it not be pre-installed. But like you, I agree I'm not completely opposed and will not be unhappy. I may have a bracket from Craig available to offer to someone. Time and actual delivery of my MME will tell.

Same here, I just bought a Craig's plate. No way should these brackets be affixed to the cars. The dealer can do that at time of delivery if the customer wants it.

Yeah. I was hoping that, being in CA. I would be able to pre-emptively stop the dealer from installing a front bracket. But now I suspect I will not have that choice. /shrug

I sent an email to my dealer last night after I saw the image in this thread showing a front license plate bracket already on a Mach-E being transported. Told them I did not want the bracket on mine. Since my car hasn't been built yet and to let Ford know it. Their response was they'd see if they can get that confirmed and get back to me.

The dealer got back to me today and I quote:

Ok we deleted the front license bracket
You’re all set

When my window sticker shows up next month, barring any delays at the factory, I will see if the bracket is not listed. Others who do not want the front license bracket, might want to contact their dealer and request it to be removed.

If it wasn't a special order I would just go with the bracket, but since the standard procedure was to order and remind the dealer not to do it this new info is pretty annoying, more so than the delay. Not that one photo of one on a truck in KC is proof, just annoying I could potentially get one off the line now quicker than my delayed one that might have a fugly bracket on the front sitting on some lot in KC.

Now I scour photos from the factory to see if plate brackets are on the front, and most are of the rear of the car

I'm just going to forget about the Craigs bracket and be content with what appears to be a factory installed bracket. But for those that still want to try and remove it, I used these on a prior car. I don't know if they will have every color but they are made covering up the holes made by factory/dealer installed brackets.

I plan to ask my dealer to not wash or otherwise modify my car when it arrives and take it straight to the PPF/Ceramic installer. For me to install the bracket I would have to clean the nose where I am attaching it, and attach it, leaving the plate mounting plate in place for them to work around. It seems like it would be easier for the installer to do the whole thing so I don't end up making it harder for them.
