You should be able to hear the plate to remove the adhesive strip.

As for the Shape, do you know something I don’t? I just looked over three different Mach Es and it looks pretty close to flat to me.
I wrote to Craig about placing the base plate dead center and he said it’s only an inch wide so that is not a problem (he didn’t say how long but I think that dimension is on his web site too and he’s not worried about a portion of the baseplate sticking out at the ends when it’s dead center). I have not seen either the car and the “shelf” the baseplates will adhere to OR the baseplate for the license holder itself so I’m sure I was concerned about nothing. He said the holder listed as the Mach E holder is the universal one actually.

As for the curve, I think you misunderstood; it’s not the surface of the “ledge” having a curve (bump) - it’s the curve of the outside bumper (nose) that I am concerned about showing the ends of the straight baseplate (that is straight, not curved itself). Again, you’ve seen the actual car and I haven’t so you know better then me as to the shape of the bumper dead center where I’d want to place the baseplate and the license plate holder.

I didn’t ask about removing the base plate because I think if you place this device on your car you won’t want it to come off and won’t remove it voluntarily; it was a rhetorical question. Yes, heating the baseplate adhesive should work. It’s the same adhesive that was used on the body side moldings I placed over the years and It literally feels like one couldn’t pull them off.

All in all, it seems like a good solution and I’m eager to hear and see the first one placed on our cars. I may rethink buying one myself rather than using the OEM holder. The only advantage I see of doing it, however, is when it comes time to resell the car to somebody in a state that doesn’t require front plates. I certainly don’t plan on showing my car. Is it worth the $55 plus dollars for that? I don’t know.

Since you haven't seen the Mach E yet here are some pictures of the front end. The mounting plate is flat and goes onto that flat shelf. The section above is where the license plate normally goes. It won't reach as high as the actual nose.

You can see my exchanges with Craig above. His website states that it needs "a space at least 3.5 inches wide and 1.5 inches deep of flat painted surface". Should work great.

Does that hold the license plate away from the forward facing radar? Is this the OEM license plate holder? I saw a picture somewhere on this forum with what was said to be the OEM holder but it didn’t look like the unit pictured on the Ford Accessory page in that it holds plate out of the way. I’m confused.
The photo above in

shows the OEM mount. Craig’s mount would be used to mount a plate in the same place.

DISREGARD THIS - I figured it out. It's the front radar assembly and I think its included in Premium models. Maybe not for the Select models. [OK. What is the deal with the part shown in the Ford Accessories? According to what the web site said it’s not available anyway. Is this Ford’s answer to not drilling holes in the bumper? Forget me asking I figured it out. Its the radar assembly. I guess it would be for the Select models to add this on.]

I think Select already has this radar.

The reason it's listed on the site is that it's available as a replacement part. It's not the accessories site.

Thanks. I just couldn’t figure out why they’d advertise this as an available part. Maybe if the car was in an accident and it had to be replaced.

@ChasingCoral What do you think about the James Bond approach? https://tegoautoproducts.com/ I kinda like it if it doesn't interfere with the sensors and doesn't hit the ground all the time.

Been looking at this more since Craig's isn't compatible with PPF. Does anyone know where the 'self-draining' frunk holes go? (pictured) Wondering if I can use the 12V in frunk and feed the wire down there. If not, we can dismiss this one since there's no way to feed the wires from frunk to undercarriage.

The PPF does not have to be one continuous piece to stay adhered, does it? I was figuring to leave a PPF gap on the bottom of that bumper edge, just wide enough to mount the Craig bracket. I am willing to trade PPF on that couple of inches (which will then be (mostly) covered by the Craig bracket to avoid drilling traditional bracket mounting holes in the bumper.
Never had PFF myself, anyone have insight?

You can totally do that. I just don’t want to as I’d rather have something that I can flip up at a moment notice
