We have always named our cars and this Carbonized Grey will be Venom but Vision was a runner-up. Venom will replace Jarvis - an F-Pace with the tech package and set to a British assistant voice. You can see the theme. I am kinda bummed to hear some company is planning to release a model called Venom but it's done. Venom joins Ruby and Blackie in the garage. I could not get that license plate so pics will show the same plate I have had for 20+ years - JBYRON. We used to have a Ford Freestyle called Christine - if you remember that model and the problems with it moving on its own, you get that.
Love the theme - but Vision for Carbonized Grey? That's dark! LOL - Totally jelly of the JARVIS - I have long set my assistance to British so it sounds like the butler is talking to me :-D

My original 2004 Prius got a CA personalized license plate ENGNRNG after many hours trying many different variations on the "engineer" theme. Later that plate moved to a CMAX ENERGI, and my email and many user names start with "engnrng". Now that plate is on my KONA Electric. When I bought my laser red 2002 GT convertible (see avatar photo) about 15 years ago, tried many license plate ideas in California database trying to find another plate to do with "engineering". Finally found MUST ENG available, snatched it short for MUST ENGineer,. A couple of months ago, I got a different plate for that car so I could put that MUST ENG plate on my new Mach E! Try saying it out loud - not too bad. MUSTENG

I’ve changed my mind about the cars name. Normally I name them, “Truck”, “Jeep” or other equally clever names. I had thought about calling it Elusive Blue, but that’s to complicated. Then it dawned on me.

My car will sit in Mexico, then it will go to Kansas City and sit some more. Then it will probably go by rail to Long Beach or Oakland California where it will sit for roughly another week (or more) waiting for the next ship. Then it’ll go on a 5 day cruise to Honolulu. Then it’ll get off loaded and sit on the docks in Honolulu waiting for a space available spot on the barge to Hilo. That can take a week or 6 weeks. Then it’ll go to Hilo and sit for 3 days maximum (The Pier people charge a hefty fee for vehicles left more than 3 days). Then it’ll go to the dealer less than 2 miles away. Then it’ll go home where it’ll sit in my garage to rest up from all the sitting it did.

So I’m thinking of calling it, “Sit boy, sit,”or “Hurry up and Wait,” or “Slow boat to Hilo.”

Kinda long, but i was thinking MachEavelli
Or maybe stick to the true spelling of Machiavelli
Very clever! That is if you don’t read too much into it. Otherwise it might be a better name for a Tesla. Not that I’m comparing Elon to The Prince or anything like that.

I'm not sure if I'll name this car or not and if I do, what that name will be. I did name my 2002 Thunderbird calling her "Illinibird" which is also my handle. I'm an Illini through and through (undergraduate, professional school, post graduate, graduate and faculty (Asst. Clinical Professor)). I was affiliated with the University of Illinois (the Illini) since 1967 except for the 2 years in the Army Dental Corps. When I married Susan she had a 1968 Mustang which I sort of "owned" with her once we got married but we never named that car (or any car we've had with the exception of the Thunderbird). I'll have to think real hard and see if I can come up with something that reflects the 1968 Mustang which was my "first" car. Illinimustang just doesn't cut it for me but maybe Illinistang, Illinihorse or Illinipony?

Showed my toddler a picture of a GB FE (which will hopefully arrive any day now) and she remarked it was the same color as Cookie Monster. I feel like I have to keep that name now!

"stupid Ford buyers don't even know how to spell the name of their car!" - Teslastan on one of their forums after seeing this. ????

assuming you eventually do the smart phone thing (as I recall, that's not a thing for you at the moment) or even the FordPass web site registration, you'll need to call the car something in the registration. It's something you can change later (thanks to @ChasingCoral for pointing that out) but yeah, it has to be something. "My Car" is just fine though for that. :)
