Yeah, it's a shame Ford left it out., no roof racks or towing :-(.

It is not hard to add a hitch.... for Utility trailer, and hitch mount bike rack of course.
be warned that it will affect mi/kWhr significantly, especially at highway speeds and going up hills.

my regular around-town average is about 4.25 mi/kWhr starting and ending in garage
my 'lifetime' average for first 6000 miles is 3.5 miles/kWhr
this particular trip, one way from Abq to Santa Fe, I got just 1.8 mi/kWhr; but this is steady 80 mph highway driving with elevation gain from 5000 to 7000 ft and about 1200# in tow.

It's not a question of can it be done, of course it is possible to do it. Ford Europe says it can do it, Ford US says no towing. If you get into an accident while towing, and you are exceeding the manufacturer's towing limit (none) you could end up being liable. If I get to the point where towing becomes important to me, I will sell the Ford and look for another SUV that can tow.

I only haul around little monsters... Don't let @HuntingPudel know because he doesn't want to take on this battle.

So how easy do the back seats come out?
Anyone measure floor-to-ceiling height then? Can a bicycle go easily in and out through the back doors?
Car camping possibilities?

I fold down the rear seats and it carries a road bike without having to take off the wheel.

taking out back seats is a bit of a chore, and you wouldn't gain much cargo space. You'd also lose you nice flat bed. I'd highly suggest bike rack for bikes outside. TorkLift hitch + 1Up, or whatever your fav rack is

I am not a fan of the idea of lifting a fairly heavy, potentially muddy MTB up over my head and dropping it or mud on the roof of my MME.... I'm 6' tall, and putting a bike on top of the MME would be a stretch .... or forgetting it's up there and peeling it off entering a garage or carport. But sure, that's an option.

Nice pic and carrier dtb61! But I am curious why you just don't put down the back seats and put the bikes in the back...two bikes mean two riders and just two passengers, right?

I haul the trash to the can every week. Haul my ass to work and back every daily 88 mile round trip. Haul grandkids around. Haul folding chairs to their field sports games. I’ll pick up a hitch to haul my bikes. The S.O. drives the EB Flex and that really hauls ass and a lot of it.
