What does this pictogram on my liftgate actually mean?

Nice!! Pebbles the 🐩 is threatening bodily harm to my ankles if ā€˜Dah’ doesn’t get her Cavasback covers PDQ if not sooner!!
Get the long cut. It covers the gap with the floor up or down.

they even have a version that has a flap you can pull out over your bumper if your pooch jumps in by itself. Keeps it from getting scratches.

Pick your color and cut. You won’t be disappointed!

If I remember correctly it takes about 6 weeks for delivery because they are custom and hand made.

worth the wait.

Kick to open was dropped as a feature very early on. Only 2021s have it. Mine works about 30% of the time. I rarely attempt to use it for that reason.

Ford undoubtedly had 37 Quintillion liftgate stickers printed up before the pandemic struck and part shortages became a way of life. I fully expect to see these same stickers in gen 9 Mach-e’s.

Pro tip: set the max height to avoid striking your garage door or the door opener track. There is a years long thread on the after affects of such an occurrence.
It’s goofy Ford can’t get kick to open figured out. I traded a 2020 Acura RDX on the MME and kick to open worked just fine on the Acura.

I have the liftgate set fairly low. On a really good day I am about 1.7 M tall, on a bad day, not so tall …. šŸ˜Žā€¦ it’s what it is…

I have kick to open on my Feb-built 2022. I had to activate the software on FORScan, but the hardware was there. Once I figured out where to kick (on the left side of the license plate) KTO works about 80% of the time on first try. KTC on the other hand works maybe 10% of the time. Why the difference? I dunno.

It was meant to inform that you could use the ā€˜kicking’ motion, which btw, Ford removed that capability sometime in MY 2022. However, they did not see fit to remove the sticker that references the feature. Go figure.šŸ¤·šŸ¾ā€ā™‚ļø
The funny thing about that sticker though is that the 2021 - 2023.0 cars don't have that sticker.

Before 2023.5 There was an additional button for closing the trunk with a plastic bezel with that stuff molded into it.

With the 2023.5 and 2024 cars they removed the second button so now you just use the same button you use to open the trunk to close which means they created that sticker specifically for the 2023.5s and 2024s but for some reason they left the kick sensor stuff on it.

They figured it out fine. Then chips ran out. They they decided to not add it back.

Marquis I think you need to slow your roll. I read the f#@$ manual and set the liftgate. Read the post again! It’s the rest of the sticker that’s not making sense.
Just making a (poor) joke. Not trying to offend, sorry.

Hmmmmn -
if the 2024 is missing the chip but the sensor/hardware is there, then sooner or later I should be able to get my dealer to add the chip and activate it? Or are folks using the words 'chip' and 'hardware' in the other threads on the topic interchangeably?

Hardware hasn't been there since 2023...

Good tips, thank you. I will keep those in mind.

Pebbles’ routine is to stand, put her front feet, aka hands, on top of the bumper cover and wait for one of her human servants to lift up the rest of her into the car. I think think at 28 months old she’s more than capable of jumping in on her own. She’s also big enough. But she figures as long as someone will save her the effort, why not get a lift?

I think it's been answered but the QR code-looking-thing is Ford's part number.

The kick to open works 100% of the time in my car and I love it so much I use it even when I have both hands free and could otherwise hit the button. I think Ford's decision to drop it was a poor one and I hope they bring it back.

I’ll sell you my kick to open. Worthless pos that it is. ;)
Too funny! Only if airfare to the big Island is included!! Return airfare …. maybe optional, might depend on how often you get skiable snow on the higher peaks!!šŸ˜ŽšŸ©ā›·.

The kick to open really does work on Acuras. The times it may not have worked were so few and far between as to be statistically meaningless.

From what I’ve read on the forum it seems like many people would say Ford hasn’t got it figured out. But I also understand they are squeezing cost out by removing features they think most people don’t care about or want. That’s life in a competitive manufacturing environment.

All that said, I really like my MME and can grudgingly live without kick to open. After all, I bought the car knowing it didn’t have that feature.

Back to your offer … does it include the rest of the vehicle? Can I drive it back to the mainland ā€¦šŸ¤”ā€¦that’s not likely!!

Take care!

There is no omission on the 2024.

It was on the early 2022s, then the chip was removed but the hardware remained. In 2023 it was all gone, and it's not listed as a feature. In 2024, it's long gone.
