What does this pictogram on my liftgate actually mean?

We all have the sticker.

I stood there kicking like a fool in front of my sales guy Kicking and Kicking. Nothing happened and he didn’t know why it wasn’t working.

I came from a 2014 Escape and knew exactly how to activate my kick to open lift gate.

It wasn’t until I joined this forum that I learned that they discontinued the feature.

Disappointed, yes.

Still love my MME, yes…

I sense your dog's embarassment over repeatedly kicking the car to get the liftgate to open!

You also have a parking assist button on the center console that essentially does nothing. Removing it appears to cost more than Ford wants to spend.

In mine, when pressed that button brings up a list of parking lots & garages in the area. Somewhat useful although I would prefer the magic of having the car park itself at the push of a button.

And speaking of liftgates, I've noticed that when my MME is locked and I press the open button on the liftgate itself, it opens about 6" and won't open fully until I press it a 2nd time. If the car is unlocked and I press it, it opens fully the first time. Does anyone know why this is, and if there's anything I can do to make it open fully the first time I press it, even if the car is locked?

I would prefer the magic of having the car park itself at the push of a button.

It’s simultaneously too slow and too fast. It’s easier to just park yourself most of the time. I no longer use the function.

@Sawdusty, there is an OTA update, 23-PU0630-RGT-PLO, that will fix the liftgate bug. If you don't want to wait to receive the fix OTA, you can ask your dealer to install the module update for you.

Ford did not reprint the sticker so you would hop on one leg trying to make the missing foot sensor activate.

Marquis I think you need to slow your roll. I read the f#@$ manual and set the liftgate. Read the post again! It’s the rest of the sticker that’s not making sense.

Thanks for this info. I guess I just assumed that all OTA updates get pushed out to all vehicles at or around the same time. I know I just received one a few days ago but I don't think it fixed the liftgate issue.
