A large portion of which are the same across their fleet of vehicles they sell…and yes the sales person should know how Sync 4 works.

But maybe the dealer you have went to sucks….

My elderly mother who had never used a smart phone in her life before last year had no problem having someone at a Ford dealer show her how to connect the phone and use features.

Car salesmen earn their money by commissions. They are, I agree, important for introducing the customer to the car. They are not long-term service people, as you seem to believe. Agencies need service people PAID for doing the job you seem to think salesperson need to do in perpetuity. Now if those salespeople were paid an hourly wage for IT service that would be a different matter, it might even be a logical step, but it is not the current reality, no matter how much you think it is.

The salesperson at my dealership owned a 2021 Mach-E when I bought mine. After owning mine for about a week, I asked her if I could meet with her and ask her some questions. I went in with my list and she couldn't answer any of them... even though she was driving the same car!
