Depends on your state DMV rule for the allowable degree of front window tint. For the front and back side windows?
I wonder if I should just tint the front to match the back window or go one step brighter?
PS : I have 2023 GT
I don't think the factory tint depends on the state laws? Isn it the same thru US?Depends on your state DMV rule for the allowable degree of front window tint.
Which in turn depends (as I understand it) partly on how many cops got blown away over the years walking up to cars in your state.
Rear windows and front windows are usually treated differently.Upd:
Seems like the rear windows are around 25%

Factory tint should be the same across the country as far as I know, but how much you can add is definitely a state thing.I don't think the factory tint depends on the state laws? Isn it the same thru US?
Yup. At least in Virginia, a cop may not only give you a ticket for too-dark tint, they may have you strip it off right there on the side of the road.Factory tint should be the same across the country as far as I know, but how much you can add is definitely a state thing.
Rolled down windows are exempt from being measured? Some states have mandatory safety inspections. Out here, your tinted windows are measured each inspection and if they are too dark, the car fails meaning you can’t register the car. I know one guy who goes to an inspection site and keeps his windows rolled down for this very reason.
They forget to look at them cause they’re rolled down.Rolled down windows are exempt from being measured?
Seems like the state might want to invest in a checklist. They forget to look at them cause they’re rolled down.
