I have tried passing my hand over the driver's door pillar keypad area in all different directions and different speeds, and sometimes it lights up and is ready for entry on the first pass..... but usually it takes several passes from different direction, and occasionally it just doesn't.

So, I'm asking, does anyone have a particular approach, angle, speed, or technique that seems to be 'dependable' ?

Don't swipe, tap!

Turns out that a firm tap in the number area is very reliable to get pad to light so code can be entered.

so simple once you do it.

I just start pressing buttons. Press a random number to get the pad to light up and then enter my code.

I swipe down the pad to make it light up.

Slow rap with one finger on any button, then enter your door unlock code.

ok..... very interesting, I have been swiping... apparently too high, too low, or not making good contact over the numbers.

Turns out that a firm tap in the numbers is very reliable to get pad to light so code can be entered.

so simple once you do it.

It doesn’t even need to be a “firm” tap. Just a moderate tap that would be enough to trigger any of the buttons is fine. I just tap my first number and continue on from there. 😊🐩
