What is your definition of a "Road Trip?"

For me, any single trip (one way) that exceeds my 46 mile daily average. In my first year, I've only taken two road trips that have required public charging. New England is a rather compact region. I find this makes BEV ownership easy.

I've done about 1000 mile in 20 hours straight by myself (ah yeah youth).
I consider a road trip to be going anywhere outside of our "normal" driving routines. Going to the grocery store not a road trip. Driving an hour to another town to grab dinner and come back that is a road trip.
You can also make a distinction between a simple "road trip" and "The Great American Road Trip" (which, by definition, has to involve one or more National Parks LOL).
Of course, since we have an RV, our definition might be a little skewed because a "camping trip" could be a mere 10 miles or a 4500 mile trek. When we had the Bolt we would tow it behind the RV so it could go on really long trips without ever having to be DC charged (charge it up at the campgrounds). We have also brought the Mach-E along on trips as well but, in this case, we have to drive the Mach-E separately. The furthest camping trip, so far, that we've brought along the Mach-E is right now: 250 miles away.
Turns out that the CA Rt1 is really efficient when it drafts an RV: Trip meter was showing 3.9 miles/kWh on the way out.

Here in the NYC metro area, you're a few hours drive from a couple of big cities
NYC -> Philly/New Haven CT: 1 hr 45 mins = Not a road trip
NYC -> Boston/DC: ~4 hours = definitely a road trip
I'd say any trip where you have to recharge more than once can be considered a road trip.

I definitely think you take the gold medal for this "road trip". Makes my daily commute look pitiful. 16 miles round trip.

We always carry at least three bound state road atlases (AZ, UT, CA) and one full country road atlas.

I’m MD also, in Mount airy. don’t use Waze for Frederick county, but into Montgomery or others yes And that is local. Around DC anything can balloon from a 30 minute drive to 5 hours.

That's not a bad road trip. It also reminded me that we are practically neighbors (I'm in Arlington VA).
Our Summer of '23 road trip that lasted, with two longish stops, from 16 June thru 08 August, Atlantic - Pacific - Atlantic, ran up 10,515 miles on our 2022 Mach E Premium AWD Extended Battery. ...and nothing went wrong with this wonderful car
One of these days I might write up the lessons I learned. I am almost recovered haha...We took the mostly Northern route on the way West, and then pretty much beelined it back from San Francisco to Virginia.
