Help me out! Just purchased my Select today but we really like the rims on the Premiums. I realize the difference in size is obvious. Are there any rim covers out there that will cover my Select to look more like the premium ones?

There are a few available on the classifieds section here! If you happen to be in CO I’m selling a set right now.

Thank you. I will keep this in mind and look in to shipping also. I will be in Estes Park after labor day but that's still a couple months away.

Ford sensors should automatically re-learn to a new car, it is only some aftermarket sensors that need to be reprogrammed.

What about odometer and speedometer, different circumferences will affect the instruments, no?

No, when people talk about putting different rim sizes on their cars, they only mean the aluminum rim itself changing diameter. The tire on an 18" wheel on the Select has the exact same outside diameter as a 19" on the Premium, and a 20" on the GT - the sidewall of the tire just gets thinner each time the rim gets larger. So in this case an 19" Premium wheel can swap in for an 18" Select wheel with no changes whatsoever.

I found a set about 110 miles from me. It also gave me my first opportunity to use a charger away from home or work. I could have taken our F-150 but I wanted the experience of a charger and seeing what I could fit in my Select. Tires and rims fit just fine. Charging went well. I also found out that they are plug and play and the new sensors connect to the vehicle just fine with no effort on my part. We also learned where to jack the car up instead of trying to figure it out along side the road some where if needed some day. I know there is no spare but if needed, we know now.

Sounds like a good overall experience. Congrats on getting to know your car a little better.

If you did this yourself, did you torque the lugnuts to 150 pounds?

Well my husband actually performed the work and I didn't verify that he did. Kinda makes him pissy if you know what I mean, lol.

Ever seen a mechanic or tire shop put on or rotate wheels?

Never once have I seen them get out a torque wrench.

They put them on “tight.” 😅
