I thought the $7500 tax credit only applied to purchases (not leases) and that is why Ford did the "Ford Options Plan" to sell the car with a guaranteed buyback/balloon payment? Am I out of date? I think most people aren't aware of the income caps on the $7500, and might be surprised when they do their taxes.
Section 45w of the Clean Vehicle Tax credit speaks to the commercial clean vehicle credit. Under 45w there are no:

Income limits
Assembly requirements
MSRP Caps
Battery mineral or assembly requirements

This section applies to leasing companies, but they can decide to pass all, part, or none of the tax credit along to the leasee. Don't know what Ford is doing but def shop around.

I have a PCO of $6,500 as I was pushed from 2022 to 2023
I believe that I can only use that on my personal order. Am I wrong?
Good question, I don't know. Maybe Ford corporate can help?

The PCO certificate is tied to the VIN which would only work on the ordered vehicle.

Same here - hanging in to see what my dealer can do with my incoming MME.
I am also selling my Lightning and if it sells, then it's a slam dunk.

AWD must be popular in your neck of the woods ?
Where I am (So Cal), we don't need AWD so RWD is fine with me.

The last RWD I had was a 2013 BMW 335i. I would actually get stuck in ½ of snow if I was on an incline of 2°.
It was a disaster.

Funny - I had a BMW 335d RWD and put on Blizzaks which performed very well in the snow.

Used to ski in the Sierra Nevada mountains back then a lot and wore winter shoes all year around..

I believe Ford will eventually offer the $7500 on leases, but that's just a guess. The Tesla price drop is too big of a hammer to ignore and local dealers here have dropped ADM to < $2k (probably will go to $0 if asked). They just have too many cars now vs. 0 before and I think even if they don't make much $$, I think they will have to price compete at the end of the day.

This will be very hard on the higher trims though.

Why wait? Ford's Mach-e inventory lookup shows 92 cars in various configurations in stock within 300 mile radius of Albany (don't know where you live). In general there's tons (like hundreds of cars) of inventory available across the country so stealers should not be too greedy.

https://shop.ford.com/inventory/mach-e/results?zipcode=12201&Radius=300

Investigate other leasing companies too...you might get a better deal than Ford.
You can’t trust Fords inventory. It includes sold vehicles. But the dealers websites don’t lie…

Premium AWD is over $55k. Those are everywhere. Just start googling dealers one at a time and you’ll find one. Now rwd premiums that come in just under $55k, those are the unicorns right now.

There IS a red red Prem available. (probably a customer car listed in the inventory.)
Remember - I'm in NY.. RWD cars don't sell and the dealers rarely even order them.

Quick check showed 2 at empire ford, two at dana ford… then I stopped looking. Both were within 20mi of your zip.

If you’re using the Ford site it’s a waste of time. It shows cars that aren’t there and doesn’t show cars that are. None of these AWD premiums are tax credit eligible though. Just fyi.

Take a look at the screen shots. These are extended range with markups.
I'm talking about AWD Prem SR. These are more expensive cars. My sticker is $57,675 minus my $6,500 private offer.

Maybe I missed the question here. Are you asking for a better price than your PCO? Ain’t gonna happen. Those cars are advertised at MSRP on other sites. Go in. Offer MSRP on.. If they let you leave, watch your phone the next 3 days. You’ll probably get a call. Unless NY is somehow different than the rest of the us.
