Winnipeg to Vancouver route?

I’m heading to Vancouver in September 22 for a cruise and thinking about driving from Iowa. I was thinking about making the drive along Highway 1 from Winnipeg or Regina and going through Banff. Main reasons being that there is a big giant charging desert across the top of the US that runs from about Winnipeg to Calgary. That stretch looks pretty juicy in Canada. Any thoughts on that route, charging, other ways to make that drive enjoyable? Maybe an alternate route or sights along the way. I’m just working with what I know (very little) about so far. Two adults, one 3-year-old to be, and a First Editon Mustang Mach-E.

Petro-Canada has put DC fast chargers along on the Trans-Canada Highway from coast to coast. IMO they are better than Electrify-Canada stations. Good charging speed and reliable. Recommend you download Petro-Canada EV app.
