After thinking about it, I'm convinced that this is a cynical trial balloon Ford floated to get us talking about an absurd price. That way, when the real price is released it will sound "reasonable" because they extended the Overton window as it were.

A friend shared this with me.

Notice the annual or monthly options for BlueCruise. And also, Ford is watching the market to see our feedback. So, what do you think?

I wouldn't pay as I don't think it's worth. The Bluecruise doesn't work well in slow or stop-and-go traffic. The one from GM, Supercruise, works much better.

My Monroney says it is included at no additional cost (Section up top).

if it is discontinued on my car I will be having a ”bait and switch” conversation with the various regulators and the press.

For me personally the lane centering coupled with the distance control is sufficient.

Ford seems to be joining the Musk school of marketing…I wouldn’t pay $6K for “enhanced autopilot” nor $15K for “full self driving”, and now would not pay $2.1K for “Blue Cruise”, especially since my ‘22 GT is only getting BC 1.0 privileges…but I do see the “bait & switch” argument.

I didn’t buy a Tesla. I HATE subscriptions for everything! Just give me a price to buy a car.

I did pay more to get it already and I enjoy it. I upgraded to the GT for it. I just had to have it to know. I don’t use it a lot though unless I’m on a trip or going somewhere around the bay. So paying every year/month for that? Nope. It doesn’t work enough places.

You upgraded to the GT for BlueCruise?
Yep it was the tipping point anyway. It was the only model we could get with it. It wasn’t that big of a jump once all of my other desires were factored in though.

I got BC for 3 years with my 22 Premium and have used it sparingly. As far as I'm concerned it's a "nice to have," not a necessity. And, certainly not for the numbers being shown here. Makes the olive oil in my Italian blood boil that they keep making ownership an automotive version of "Let's Make a Deal!" I bought a car and expected some measure of continuity of reliable ownership, but it's always something.

I just wish that FoMoCo would be responsive to all the "Gremlins" that my car has had. Been at the dealer this time for 3 business days for intermittent swipes of the windshield wipers and the fact that the courtesy lights stay on for 10 minutes after turning the car off! Have met the legal definition of Lemon Law under NC law. Giving serious consideration to filing a claim under that statute.

You can prevent the intermittent wiper swipes by leaving them off instead of on auto when it’s not raining. The lights staying on is a known issue that will require a new headlight switch (when available). Just rotate the knob off and back to auto when it happens in the meantime.

There you go again. Offering reasonable solutions to known issues. 😆🤣

Wait, you're saying that you're glad that you paid $4000 more for your car so that you didn't have to pay $2100 for BlueCruise?
No, I’m not but I did get the first goodwill refund.

Cars decrease in price - that’s life.

I really like it when it works but my daily commute of 40 miles can only use it for maybe 6 miles, and it's not consecutively.

It's also not reliable. In another section, it works for about a 1/4 mile, hits a turn, shuts off, then works for a couple of miles.

It's gotta get better, a lot better.

Yes, it's included in the price, meaning you paid for it. When you went on to the Ford website to activate it you agreed to the subscription as well, of which 3 years was already paid for.

Good luck with the press and regulators - In your county they can steal a car and everyone looks the other way, don't think they'll give a crap about a Blucruise complaint.

I'd be happy to pay for it for the time I actually use it. Since I use it for maybe 2 minutes every other month the impact would be minimal. And if the charge is too high, the usage can easily be reduced.
