Just got this email response. Helpful
and no need to upgrade.

MCA members that joined before 3/1/21 at any membership level will be grandfathered in. The 90 rule will still apply.

Sincerely,

Interesting! At first it seemed people would have to upgrade their membership.. looks like they reversed that according to this email.

Now I wonder if anyone's membership is set to expire prior to taking delivery, if they'd need to renew at the digital level to continue to be eligible for xplan? I might be on that boat. Got a build week of 5/3, and my current mustang club membership expires 7/8/21... That's a VERY tight window I'm working with.

I have a few questions pertaining to the Mustang Club of America and X plan pricing.

1. Is the 90 days from when you pay or order?
2. How do yiu know if your dealership will accept X Plan pricing?
3. Is X plan pricing a good deal? Any success stories, especially with doc fees?
4. I think the $35 plan qualifies but am not sure.
Any tips and pointers are appreciated.

90 days from when you become a MCA member

2. How do yiu know if your dealership will accept X Plan pricing?

Have to ask dealer. If early enough can move vehicle order to accepting dealer I believe. Most will accept since they get the difference from Ford.

3. Is X plan pricing a good deal? Any success stories, especially with doc fees?
Yes, they have to accept 75-100 doc fee. That’s one big benefit of x plan.

4. I think the $35 plan qualifies but am not sure.

I think the digital plan qualifies. The middle one.

Any tips and pointers are appreciated.

1. The PIN is used when you take delivery.
2. You have to ask them. I recommend getting the answer in writing.
3. The actual dollars off MSRP is ~$700. The $100 cap on the doc fee varies by state. Here in AZ it's good for ~$400 more.
4. Yes, the $35 membership works.

I see you are in NJ, I used Fullerton Ford who accepted my XPLAN with the $100 doc cap fee. Joe or John were helpful with vehicle tracking during my really long wait.

90 is from when you start your MCA membership which lasts a year. The PIN can be generated anytime during membership, which is also good for a year.

Many dealers during the paperwork part ask for a copy of the MCA membership card, or other proof of being eligible if you didn’t receive your card in time.

If ordering do ask your chosen dealer to confirm in writing the above as well as no ADM. Best to get that done before placing an actual order and confirm again after the accept it. In NJ it’s a very competitive market so less game playing.

I just picked up my Route 1 Saturday and used the X-plan. I joined Mustang of America yesterday and used PayPal to join for $25. After that I generated the pin. The dealership accepted the printout and knocked on off around $900.
They did not ask for a membership card or anything.

I purchased my MME 6 months ago with X-plan. I gave the dealer my X-plan PIN at the time of purchase, and they never asked for anything else. Today, I received a random email from the dealer saying that Ford is asking them to provide proof of my MCA membership to validate X-plan eligibility. I just sent over a copy of my membership card, but I'm not sure what would happen at this point if I couldn't provide it. Strange that Ford is asking for this 6 months later. Maybe they're just doing random spot checks to make sure dealers are providing the proper documentation.

My MCA card is in my wallet and my printout of my PIN is in my briefcase. I’m bringing both with me whenever my MME GT-PE gets here (in 2029 maybe?).

I guess you should ask your dealer to include a copy of your MCA card with your paperwork, even if they don’t ask for it.

My dealer asked me to send a pic of my membership card. As far as what could happen if they don't have it and Ford comes looking for it, I believe the dealer gets charged back the amount of the discount.

Makes sense since it’s really the dealer‘s responsibility to make sure they have all the required documentation.

It took about two months for my membership card to arrive. I’ve had the card for almost 5 months now. If my MME takes much longer for its build week to get here, I’m going to have to renew my MCA membership.
