Tesla unveiled (leaked?) on their app that they’re going to offer charging for non-Tesla EVs at a monthly subscription fee of $0.99/mo.

I took some screenshots which I’ve included below. A map search just shows a bank of Gen 3 HPWCs in California available so far but zero CCS Superchargers.

As a mach-e owner, someone who isn't a fan of elon musk (but I respect him and understand he is aware of his antics and how they are good for business), someone who thinks all teslas look like eggs ... i could go on and on.

I am happy to hear this. If we could tap into their supercharger network i am going to be one happy camper.

Has the cabling solution been determined yet? Are they going around to existing superchargers and replacing cables/connectors to provide a CCS hookup?

Seems like a faster solution would be to enable superchargers to talk to CCS through an adapter that each non-Tesla would have to buy? And then over time, phase in the cable change so adapters are no longer necessary at Superchargers.

Also, as far as I know, no such Supercharger->CCS adapter exists yet?

The plan they proposed to the WH involves building new versions of the Supercharger that include CCS cables.

I won't be taking any long trips until next summer. Hopefully, this is all sorted out by then. That and more native CCS DCFC get installed.

This is great news, now all we need is a Tesla > CCS adapter from Tesla!

I also don’t think 99 cents is gonna be the price. They’ve already taken it down from the app, so 99 cents was most likely a placeholder
From what I've heard on videos by @OutofSpecKyle and Bjorn was that there was a monthly membership fee of what I think was about 4 EUR for non-Tesla owners in Europe who want to pay a discounted rate while using a Tesla super charger. Maybe it will be $5/month in North America when they roll this out?

If this includes the new Tesla chargers being installed in Lubbock TX I'll use it. No DCFC is currently in Lubbock and the L2 takes too long for the traveling I need.

EUR <--> $USD has gotten a lot closer recently. 4 EUR is now about equivalent to $4 USD.

What Tesla should really do is start building 2024 North America vehicles with a CCS port like they do in Europe. Older Teslas would then need an adapter to connect to newer Superchargers (but still get a free membership).

I don't see why this has so much buzz. I have been on multiple 2000+ mile trips and have had no problem with Electrify America (and others).

Never did I find myself wishing I could use a Tesla network charger.
I don't DCFC charge very often, but twice I've been charging at EA and all the stations are full with another EV waiting for something to open up.
Tesla Superchargers have congestion too, but more chargers that can be used by anyone will ease the DCFC shortage that currently exists.
