Good question, I'm not seeing the "plug and charge" on and off switch in the new version Ford app or at Ford com.

I went there just now to look for it, and only found Blue Oval Charge Network under Connected Services and went through the steps to turn it on since it hasn't been on in a while.

Then I went back to the app (the new version Ford app) and cancelled Blue Oval Network.

But no specific button to say hey turn off plug and charge right now looks like you have to cancel Blue Oval Network.

It's in the new app (black icon and theme) under the energy section (lightning icon bottom center of the app), 'charge payment and access' section.

Is the option to turn off P&C still on ford. com?

I couldn't find it on the website after diving through a ton of pages, but found it on the app and in the car easy enough.

Okay so since Blue Oval charging Network was turned off, I didn't see charge payment and access section which leads to the plug and charge option.

So I turned on BOCN in the app again, then the payment access option showed up in the app.

But to an earlier question, I don't see a plug-and-charge on/off switch at the web version of Ford dot com.

BOCN is now "on", however plug and charge in the Ford app is currently switched to "off".

So next time I'm charging I'll see if any hiccups at a Tesla charger leads to a charge on my BOCN account. (Currently have an active Tesla membership with a different credit card attached) I'm not going force an error just to see though.

I had a problem with P&C a few months ago where I had turned it off and I couldn't turn it back on. I assume it had something to do with my cell service at home or the lack of it. I do have good internet/wifi in my garage. I couldn't turn it on even when I went to another location with cell service. I cancelled Blue Oval at Ford. com and then went to a location with cell service and activated Blue Oval at ford .com and then I was able to turn on P&C. Hopefully this version of the app will work better with P&C.

I believe that was my problem with PNC previously as well. Although in my case I thought plug and charge was "Off" because that's what the app showed, and when I went to the website it was still showing as "On" there.

Also, at that point, it wouldn't let me turn PNC back to "on" from the Ford app which is what drove me to check on the website.

So maybe the previous version of the app and the Ford website allowed for a condition where one said plug and charge was off and the other said plug and charge was on.

Now it appears there's no on/off switch for plug and charge on the Ford website. But if you cancel BOCN on the Ford website it will carryover to the app like it did for me when I tested that today.

I probably lucky that I never had PNC to hijack my Tesla or other app started sessions. I used PNC only once when selected wrong charger in Tesla app, but I corrected it quickly.

but thank you for warning, I better deactivate PNC.

This is great to know! I usually try to get a rough estimate of cost to charge by dividing the amount of trip miles one way by different amounts of KWH/M and average charger costs displayed in the Tesla app or PlugShare. It’s honestly kind of fun to play with the math. I prefer using Tesla chargers but one thing I like about EA is you can load money onto a card and kind of compartmentalize your travel budget.

Anyway my default credit card is on file for when I do want to turn it back on.

About 8 months ago, I had turned off the plug and charge button in the old fordpass app. It would still plug and charge in certain situations since my default payment was still on file, and plug and charge was still "on" at Ford dot com.

And if I tapped plug and charge slider switch Off or On in the Ford Pass app it wouldn't move so it showed me as "off" in the Ford Pass app but was "On" at Ford dot com.

This time I turned on Blue Oval Network at Ford dot com but I was able to turn it off at the Ford app and it seems to be fine that way. I checked both areas and it's asking for a default credit card if I want to start it up again. So both sides are communicating equally.

The Plug & Charge switch was relabeled under the new Ford app. Look for it under "Charge Settings" (the lightning bolt icon), "Advanced", "Charge payment and access."

Right, and they also took the plug and charge switch away from the Ford dot com site so you no longer have any chance of the app showing P&C switch off while the website is showing P&C switched on.

Now the website only lets you turn on Blue Oval Charging Network and I tested to confirm the app matches it and vice versa.

Also, if BOCN is turned off you won't see the Charge Payment Access option in the app.
