Thought I would post my experience with ford. Based on my interactions with dealerships while shopping for mach e, I was very hesitant. The dealerships ranged from shady to arrogance with their marketing. Advertising cars already sold, emailing coupons then not honoring, bogus add on charges. It was like the wild, wild west.

Then why would you buy two?

Several reasons
1. 7500 tax credit. There is no limit to this tax credit. Almost bought 4 but accountant said I would get audited if I did.
2. nj has no sales tax on ev purchase
3. Inflation, I can resell cars next year for at or more than I paid.

Diden't realize that was a bad word around here. Try not to be so sensitive. I have a model y and cybertruck on order but with 2 teenage drivers I thought the mach e's would be a good holdover plus the tax rebates

C'mon Ford. Tesla wouldn't let something so minor to halt deliveries. Just jam some toothpicks and perhaps an extra dab of Loctite into the oversized hole and be done with it

Kidding aside, yeah it would be hugely disappointing if I was in the situation, but it's a good thing Ford seems very proactive in addressing issues.

My tracker says built 9/30. Of course it still hasnt arrived. I am hoping this built date is correct and if it arrives this week I can actually purchase it.

So many holes in your plan.

For one, Tesla raised their prices (by up to $9,000) in anticipation of the BBB bill…… which is now dead in the senate.

If you are planning on buying a new car and sell it for a profit, prepare to be disappointed. This is a very short time right now that people have done that, and it’s the first time in the history of the automobile that you could. Don’t expect this to last long.

Being unable to sell cars under a recall isn’t a Ford thing, it’s a federal law.

I think most people in the forum give Tesla the healthy respect they deserve, but by coming in here and your first post is trash talking Ford is really leading with your chin. No doubt Ford would love to deliver these cars as soon as legally possible. And no doubt Tesla would want the same for the recalls they have had to perform this year.

Honestly people may have been too hard on you.

In reality we should be thanking you for abandoning two orders. Two new Mach E owners will gladly take care of those cars do you. ?

Well that is just ridiculous as how did vehicles before this period turn out OK? Sounds like everyone is going to have thebissue, but now the tax credit issue and we get screwed

Its a supplier issue based on the description. So its a limited lot run that they have identified and corrected already. Vehicles built during that time frame will likely need the seat belt hold down plates replaced. My guess, the plate is made with an extruded hole and then tapped. If the extruded hole is a bit too big you can still tape it and install it, but then it wont old the full FMVSS 208 load.

You are right it could impact delivery of vehicles from those build dates. The dealer likely wont be able to fix them fast enough.

So disappointed in this, I have a built day of Nov 1st and was expecting delivery this week. If BBB or a version of it passes before this gets resolved I won’t get the Tax credit ? Not sure if I’ll take delivery without the credit. Buying one off the lot is not an option, all the dealers around me are selling the GTs for over MSRP (which I refuse to pay). I know there are worse things to worry about and I’m happy to have a healthy family going into the holidays but still very disappointed that this happened so close to the finish line.
