I clicked on the "Complete Purchase" and filled out the financing information figuring it would give the dealer a head start on the paperwork before I arrived. Just got an email from them that the car I applied for financing on isn't for sale and is a customer order (me, I'm the customer) ?. At least I know they aren't trying to sell it to anyone else!

Guess I'll keep waiting for them to call me to come in when they're done inspecting and detailing it.

Congrats! I'm in Pittsburgh and just picked mine up last night too. I'm glad you had a good experience at Baierl, I'm near there but had written them off after seeing their crazy markups over the years. They gave you an MSRP X-plan deal though? Maybe I'll try them again when I need service. Last time I took my Mustang there a few years ago the mechanic moved my dash cam on a test drive so I couldn't see what he was doing...

It arrived on 7/26 which was the last day of my delivery window. I picked it up last night and my financing paperwork did eventually make it to the right person after I talked to my sales guy. Doing it in advance made the paperwork really quick at the dealer.

I definitely had a good experience, they had everything ready to go and were on board with price protection and didn't give me any issues on that. I didn't have X-plan but I imagine they wouldn't have a problem with that, there really were no hassles from them at all. I can't say I've dealt with them before or really looked at any cars previously so I'm not sure about markups but they didn't try any of that and there were no dealer add-ons.

i think i have fallen into a black hole, calling the rail company tracking, the car is empty and in storage, but talking to ford chat they have no info on when it will arrive at the dealer other than the estimated delivery. basically 2 weeks for it to move 10 miles haha

This seems to happen all too often. You may be able to contact your dealership and see if they have any additional info, they might be able to tell you how often they get shipments delivered from the rail yard or how long they expect this part of the process to take, but beyond that we're just kind of in the dark. I was all excited tracking mine all the way to town here and now it's been over a week stuck an hour away. Frustrating!

Just got a text from my dealer that my mach e has arrived (Los Angeles). Batch 6619. Picking it up this afternoon!

Hmm... you're a later batch than I am and yours got to LA before mine in SD. Harumph!!!!!

Picked up my car last night after my dealer had told me earlier that it wouldn't be ready until this morning. They called me later and said that I could pick it up if I didn't mind that it wouldn't be fully charged. I was too excited, so I went and picked it up.

Overall, it was a pretty smooth experience, but I'm not sure if the dealer was too experienced with Options. I completed everything online (rushed after they called me), so I only got today's incentives (3.9%, $2,000 rebate) instead of time of order (2.49%, $2,500 rebate). I'm out the $500, but I'm paying it off immediately, so my finance charges won't be too onerous. I just didn't want to hassle with trying to get the increased rebate last night. They did make sure to include the $750 CA Clean Air Rebate, so I figure all the rebates and tax credits save nearly $10,000.

I did feel bad that the salesperson that communicated with me throughout most of the process was not in last night. I'm assuming most dealers and sales are commission-based. Any suggestions for something to take the sting out of him losing my sale?

I tried to be sneaky and see if Accelerated Services has my car on file (since I know Ford sometimes uses them for convoys) even though I'm still listed as awaiting shipment in Mexico. Unfortunately, they didn't have a record of my VIN in their system. Anyone else have their car shipped by a carrier that's VIN-driven as opposed to rail-car driven (I have a VIN, I don't have a rail car) that I could try?
